Highfield Ultralite 340

The Ultralite 340 tops out Highfield's lightweight range, and it does so without giving up the easy handling that makes the smaller models so appealing. This is the roomiest Ultralite going, yet it can still be launched and recovered single-handed.
With space for six aboard, the 340 is the one to reach for when it's not just you and one other making the crossing - it's built to get the whole crew and their kit from ship to shore in one trip rather than two.
At 53kg boat-only weight, it's light enough to sit on a roof rack, which opens up options the bigger RIBs in most ranges simply don't have. You get the carrying capacity of a proper tender without the storage and towing hassle that usually comes with it.
The hull is high tensile chromated and powder-coated aluminium, so beach landings, rocky shorelines and the odd clumsy mooring are shrugged off rather than dreaded. A welded PVC construction and full-length keel guard back that up, so it's built for regular use, not just fair-weather outings.

PVC or Hypalon tubes?
The Ultralite 340 is available with either PVC or Hypalon tubes. In short: PVC offers excellent value and performs well for boats used seasonally and stored under cover, while Hypalon costs more upfront but offers superior UV resistance and longevity - worth it if the boat will live outdoors or see heavy use.
Read our full PVC vs Hypalon tubes guide for a proper breakdown of the differences, or get in touch and we'll help you pick the right fit for how you'll use the boat.

FAQs
How many people can the Ultralite 340 carry? The Ultralite 340 is rated for up to 6 people, with a maximum load of 438kg for crew and cargo combined. That figure doesn't include the engine, fuel or water, so worth keeping in mind when you're loading up.
What size engine do I need for the Ultralite 340? It's rated to a maximum of 20hp, with a maximum engine weight of 56kg. That's plenty for confident ship-to-shore trips even with a full boat.
How much does the Ultralite 340 weigh? The boat alone weighs 53kg, light enough for one person to launch and recover, and easily carried on a roof rack. Add your engine weight on top when working out what you'll be lifting or towing.
Does the Ultralite 340 fold down for storage? The hull itself is rigid aluminium, so it won't fold flat, but the tubes can be deflated to reduce the overall footprint for storage or transport. It ships in a compact package sized 300 x 105 x 36.5cm.
How does the Ultralite 340 compare to the Ultralite 310? The 340 carries an extra passenger and around 38kg more load than the 310, with a longer hull and higher-rated engine to match. If you're regularly out as a full crew of six, the 340 is the one to go for - for parties of four or five, the 310 keeps things a touch more manageable.
