Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Why do flares need to be disposed of after a certain date?
A: Flares have a limited shelf life. After their expiry date, their reliability and effectiveness can’t be guaranteed, which poses safety risks.

Q: Can I dispose of flares at my local recycling centre?
A: Most recycling centres do not accept pyrotechnics. It’s important to use a specialist disposal service like ours for safe and legal handling.

Q: How should I store flares before disposal?
A: Keep expired flares in their original containers, stored in a cool, dry place away from heat and open flames until disposal.

Q: Do I have to replace flares immediately once they expire?
A: It’s strongly recommended to replace expired flares promptly to comply with safety regulations and ensure your emergency signalling equipment is effective.
