Highfield Classic 340

The Classic 340 offers a bit more space than the smaller models in the range, without losing the easy handling that makes Highfield tenders so straightforward to live with. It's a genuine 6-person all-rounder, and one that'll carry a full crew comfortably rather than just squeezing them in.
The aluminium hull means beaching, rocky shorelines and the odd clumsy landing are nothing to worry about - this is a tender built to take the coastline as it comes, so you can push a bit further afield without a second thought. It's the kind of boat that gives you the confidence to actually use it, rather than babying it back to the mooring at the first sign of a rocky landing.
Two console options are available on the 340: the FCT8 and the GT, so if you want a proper helm setup with a bit more comfort and functionality than a tiller arrangement, you've got the choice to build the boat around how you'll actually use it.
Highfield Classic 340 Key Features
- Carries up to 6 people with a 480kg maximum load
- Self-draining deck for easy cleanup after a day on the water
- 3 air chambers for reassurance and redundancy
- Rated to 30hp for confident performance with a full load aboard
- Two console options available: the FCT8 and the GT
- Available with PVC or Hypalon tubes - see below to find your fit
PVC or Hypalon tubes?
The Classic 340 is available with either PVC or Hypalon tubes. In short: PVC offers excellent value and performs well for boats used seasonally and stored under cover, while Hypalon costs more upfront but offers superior UV resistance and longevity - worth it if the boat will live outdoors or see heavy use.
Read our full PVC vs Hypalon tubes guide for a proper breakdown of the differences, or get in touch and we'll help you pick the right fit for how you'll use the boat.

FAQs
How many people can the Classic 340 carry? The Classic 340 is rated for up to 6 people, with a maximum load of 480kg for crew and cargo combined. That figure doesn't include the engine, fuel or water, so worth keeping in mind when you're loading up.
What size engine do I need for the Classic 340? It's rated to a maximum of 30hp, with a maximum engine weight of 66kg. That's enough power to keep the boat performing confidently even with six people and gear aboard.
What console options are available for the Classic 340? You've got a choice of two: the FCT8 or the GT. Both move you away from a tiller setup towards a proper helm position, with the GT offering a bit more in the way of comfort and functionality.
Is the deck self-draining on the Classic 340? Yes - the 340 features a self-draining deck, so water clears itself rather than pooling underfoot, which makes for an easier clean-up after a day on the water.
Is the Classic 340 a good choice for exploring the coastline? Yes - the aluminium hull is built to handle beach landings and rocky shorelines without fuss, so it's a solid pick if you want the confidence to venture a bit further than the usual anchorage.
