What does "Drive-by-Wire" (DBW) actually mean?

Traditional outboards use stainless steel cables to physically pull the throttle and shift gears. "Drive-by-Wire" replaces these with digital signals. When you move the 6X9 lever, an electrical signal is sent to an actuator on the engine. The result? Zero friction, incredibly smooth shifting, and precise throttle response that never goes out of adjustment.

Will this kit fit my existing Yamaha outboard?

This kit is designed for Yamaha’s digital range. Generally, it is compatible with:

F150 to F300 "Digital" Models: Specifically those with the "LCA" or "XCA" suffix.

XTO Offshore Models: (425hp – 450hp).

Note: It is not compatible with mechanical-control outboards (models where cables physically move at the engine). If you aren't sure which version you have, please contact the Morgan Marine team with your engine serial number.
