For commercial, professional or leisure use, this all adds up to a winning formula.

Yamaha F15 15HP Outboard Engine Key Features

  • Engine Type: It is a 4-stroke, 2-cylinder, 362cc engine with a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) configuration.
  • Performance: The engine provides strong torque in the low to mid-range for quick response and a smooth, quiet ride. It is powerful enough to get a small tinnie (aluminium fishing boat) or inflatable boat on a plane with a decent load.
  • Fuel Efficiency: Its four-stroke design and single carburettor fuel induction system make it highly fuel-efficient, with some sources estimating a burn rate of around 3 to 5 litres per hour depending on conditions.
  • Starting and Control: It features Yamaha's Prime Start™ system for easy, choke-free starting in all weather conditions. Manual start models also include an auto-decompression device for lighter pull-starting. It is available with both tiller handle and remote control options, as well as manual or electric start and power tilt options.
  • Durability and Design: The motor is built with Yamaha's exclusive YDC-30 aluminium alloy and a multi-stage paint process for excellent corrosion resistance, making it suitable for saltwater use (with proper flushing). It has an easy-access freshwater flushing system and ergonomic carry handles for portability.
  • Additional Systems: It includes a shallow water drive system for navigating close inshore or in shallow estuaries, a high-output 10-amp alternator for running onboard electronics, and a labyrinth exhaust system for quiet operation.
