Is the EVO 40 powerful enough for my boat?

The EVO 40 is designed for sailing and motor boats between 31 and 45 feet. It delivers a variable heat output from 1.5kW to 4.0kW. If you have a larger vessel or particularly high-volume cabins, we can even combine two units to work in tandem.

How much fuel and battery power does it actually use?

One of the main reasons we recommend the EVO 40 is its efficiency.

• • Fuel: It consumes between 0.18 and 0.49 litres of diesel per hour.
  • Power: It runs on 12V (24V versions are available) and draws between 15 and 55 Watts (approx. 1.25 to 4.58 Amps) during operation.

Morgan Marine Tip: The "Boost" mode provides maximum 4.0kW output for up to 6 hours to get your cabin up to temperature rapidly, before settling into a whisper-quiet, low-consumption maintenance mode.

Will it run on "Red Diesel"?

Yes. Webasto units are fully compatible with red diesel, provided it is of good quality and free from water or heavy sediment. Because marine fuel can sometimes sit in tanks for long periods, we always recommend installing the Webasto Fuel Filter included in our kits to protect the dosing pump.

How noisy is it?

You’ll be pleasantly surprised. The latest EVO 40 features a reduced fan RPM and the Intelligent Drive fuel pump, which reduces noise by up to 12dB compared to older models. Most of our customers find the "whisper" of the air outlets to be very unobtrusive, even at night.

Can I install this myself?

While the kit comes with full instructions, Webasto’s warranty policy is strict: the 3-year warranty is only valid if the installation is carried out or "signed off" by an authorised dealer. As an authorised dealer, Morgan Marine can assist with professional installation or a safety inspection to ensure your warranty is fully protected.

Does it work at high altitudes or in extreme cold?

Yes, it features an integrated altitude sensor as standard. This automatically adjusts the fan speed to ensure the correct oxygen-to-fuel ratio, allowing the heater to perform perfectly at altitudes up to 2,200m (handy if you're venturing into inland waterways or mountainous regions).
