Ultra Flip Swivel & Hook are a premium anchoring accessory designed to connect an anchor chain directly to an anchor without the need for additional shackles. It is engineered to ensure the anchor always recovers in the correct orientation on the bow roller.

What is the "flip" mechanism?
The Ultra Marine Flip Swivel & Hook features a unique "flipping nub" and a rear bridge that helps the anchor orient itself correctly as it is recovered onto the bow roller. This ensures smooth, safe, and damage-free stowage on the bow roller.
How does the swivel rotate?
It allows for 360 degrees of rotation and 30 degrees of movement on its axis, facilitated by a self-cleaning semi-spherical ball and an internal Teflon O-ring that prevents metal-on-metal friction.
Does it require safety pins or clips?
No, the swivel is designed to be strong and slimline, using hexagonal head locking bolts that cannot work loose unintentionally, eliminating the need for additional safety wires or pins.
How strong is it?
The body and head are fabricated (not cast) as one piece to ensure maximum strength. The breaking strength is typically higher than that of the linked anchor chain, with the specific breaking load stamped on the back of the swivel.
What chain and anchor sizes is it suitable for?
The swivel is available in different sizes designed for specific chain diameters and maximum anchor weights (e.g., UFS 8-21 for 7mm and 8mm chain and a 21kg anchor; UFS 13-60 for 10-12-13mm chain and a 60kg anchor). The appropriate size should be selected based on the maximum anchor weight, and may even be upsized for high-grade chains like G70.
Is it compatible with all anchors?
It is designed to fit most anchor types. However, it works best with anchors that have a connecting hole on the shank. If connecting to a traditional anchor with a slot instead of a hole, minor modification might be necessary to block the void in the slot and prevent potential issues with longitudinal movement.
