Suzuki Outboard Fly by wire rigging kit
Suzuki Outboard Fly by wire rigging kit, system replaces traditional mechanical throttle and shift cables with a sophisticated digital "Fly-by-Wire" setup. By eliminating the friction and resistance of physical cables, SPC provides a buttery-smooth operation that feels more like driving a high-performance car than a traditional boat.
Whether you are navigating the tight quarters of a marina or cruising at high speeds, this computer-based system processes your commands in real-time, delivering crisp, decisive shifting and ultra-precise throttle adjustments every time.
Suzuki Outboard Fly by wire rigging kit Key Features
- Precision Docking: Say goodbye to "clunky" gear shifts. The electronic actuators ensure smooth, quiet transitions between Forward, Neutral, and Reverse—perfect for stress-free close-quarter manoeuvring.
- Single-Lever Operation: For twin, triple, or even quad installations, the SPC system allows you to synchronise multiple engines to a single lever with the push of a button, ensuring perfectly balanced power.
- Integrated Features: This kit is designed to work seamlessly with Suzuki’s Troll Mode and Automatic Trim systems (when paired with SMG4 or Multi-Function Displays), letting the boat handle the fine-tuning while you keep your hands on the wheel.
- Enhanced Fuel Efficiency: When combined with Suzuki’s Lean Burn Control, the instant digital response helps optimise fuel delivery across all RPM ranges.
Kit Components
Our comprehensive rigging kits are tailored to your specific boat and engine configuration. Typically, a complete SPC installation includes:
-
- SPC 2.0 Control Box Available in Single Top Mount, Dual Binnacle, or Flush Mount to suit your helm design.
- Digital BCM The "Boat Control Module" – the brain that communicates between your helm and the engine actuators.
- Suzuki Multi-Function Gauge
- High-visibility digital display for real-time engine data, fuel monitoring, and diagnostics.
- Keyless Start System. Many of our kits include the Suzuki Keyless Start, acting as both a convenience and an effective immobiliser.
- Troll Mode Support Fine-tune your revs in 50 RPM increments—essential for serious anglers.
- NMEA 2000® Connectivity Fully compatible with modern chart plotters and electronics for a truly integrated "glass cockpit."
Compatibility: This kit is designed for Suzuki’s "AP" and "BG" series electronic drive-by-wire outboards, including the DF115BG through to the flagship DF350A.
Suzuki Outboard Fly by wire rigging kit FAQs
What exactly is the Suzuki "Fly-by-Wire" system?
The Suzuki Precision Control (S.P.C) is a technologically advanced, computer-based system that replaces traditional mechanical throttle and shift cables with electronic wiring. Commands from your binnacle are processed in real-time and transmitted to actuators at the engine. This eliminates the friction and resistance of physical cables, resulting in "silky smooth" shifting and instant throttle response.
Which Suzuki outboard models are compatible with this rigging kit?
The S.P.C 2.0 system is designed exclusively for Suzuki outboards with electronic shift capabilities. This includes:
-
- The new "BG" series: DF115BG and DF140BG.
- The "AP" series: DF150AP, DF175AP, DF200AP, DF250AP, and DF300AP.
- Flagship models: DF300B, DF325A, and DF350A.
Please note: This kit cannot be retrofitted to mechanical-only engines.
What is included in a standard Morgan Marine rigging kit?
Our comprehensive kits are designed to get you on the water with everything required for a professional setup. A standard single-engine binnacle kit typically includes:
-
- The Control Head: Suzuki Single Top Mount Precision Control binnacle.
- The "Brains": Boat Control Module (BCM) and BCM Holder/Cushions.
- Wiring & Harnesses: Main engine-to-dash harness, BCM harness, and battery lead wires.
- Switch Panels: Ignition panel and Start/Stop panel.
- Safety & Utility: Emergency kill-switch (lanyard), warning buzzer, and Troll Mode switch.
Note: Gauges (like the SMG4 or Multi-Function Display) are usually selected separately to suit your dash layout.
Can I control multiple engines with a single lever?
Yes. If you are opting for a multi-engine setup (twin, triple, or quad), the S.P.C system features a "Single Lever" function. With the push of a button, you can control the throttle and shifting of all engines using just the port-side lever, making sync and cruising much simpler.
What are the benefits of "Troll Mode" included in the kit?
Suzuki’s Troll Mode gives you highly precise control at low revs. Once engaged, you can adjust the engine speed in 50 RPM increments, allowing you to maintain a steady, specific speed for fishing or navigating tricky marinas without constantly working the throttle.
Is the Suzuki Keyless Start system compatible with this kit?
Absolutely. Most S.P.C 2.0 setups are designed to work seamlessly with the Suzuki Keyless Start Immobiliser. This system uses a proximity key-fob for stress-free starting and acts as a significant theft deterrent. If you’d like to add keyless start to your rigging package, just let the Morgan Marine team know.
Does the system support Automatic Trim?
Yes, when integrated with a Suzuki Multi-Function Gauge (SMG4) or Multi-Function Display (SMD), the S.P.C system can manage Auto Trim. This automatically adjusts the tilt and trim to preset positions based on your RPM, ensuring your boat remains at the optimal running angle without manual intervention.
Can I install this kit myself?
While we supply the kits for purchase, Suzuki Precision Control is a sophisticated electronic system that requires calibration via Suzuki diagnostic software. To ensure your 5-year leisure warranty remains valid and the system is safe, we strongly recommend installation by our factory-trained technicians here at the Morgan Marine workshop in Brightlingsea.
