• What type of oil should I use? Suzuki recommends using  MOTUL Outboard Tech 4T 10W40 Technosynthese® or an equivalent SAE 10W-40 or 10W-30 NMMA certified FC-W oil. For very cold weather (below 5°C or 41°F), use SAE 5W-30.
• What is the oil pan capacity? The oil pan capacity for the Suzuki DF60A is 2.7 litres.
• How often should the oil be changed? Change the engine oil in accordance with the service schedule in your owner's manual, which generally involves changing it after a certain number of operating hours or at the end of each boating season. Change it more frequently if the engine is used for extended trolling.
• Does the engine have a timing belt or chain? The Suzuki DF60A is equipped with an oil-bathed timing chain that has an automatic hydraulic tensioner, providing maintenance-free operation in this regard.
• What is the recommended fuel? Suzuki highly recommends using alcohol-free unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 91, whenever possible. Blends with alcohol may be used if guidelines are followed, but using poor quality or leaded fuel can cause damage.
• How long should I break in a new engine? The break-in period for a new Suzuki outboard is a total of 10 hours to ensure peak performance and longevity.
