Suzuki 50 HP Outboard Engine FAQs

• What type of fuel should I use? Suzuki recommends using alcohol-free unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 91 (Research method) whenever possible. Using improper or poor quality fuel can affect performance and potentially damage your motor and fuel system.
• What engine oil is recommended? Suzuki recommends MOTUL Outboard Tech 4T 10W40 Technosynthese® oil. The engine oil pan capacity is 2.7 liters (2.9 quarts).
• How often should I service my outboard? The initial service is required at 20 hours or one month, whichever comes first. Subsequent servicing should be done every 100 hours or 12 months. It is recommended to use an authorized Suzuki dealer for servicing to maintain your warranty and ensure proper procedures.
• Can I lay the motor on its side for transport or storage? Yes, you can, but it is important that you lay it on the correct side to prevent oil or fuel from entering incorrect parts of the engine. There should be decals on the motor itself indicating the correct direction.
• Does the engine have a timing chain or belt? The
