• How often should I service my outboard motor? Suzuki recommends servicing your outboard motor every 100 hours of use or annually, whichever comes first. This helps maintain performance and ensures the use of genuine parts.
• What type of engine oil should I use? Suzuki recommends using SAE 10W-40 or 10W-30 SUZUKI MARINE 4-CYCLE ENGINE OIL. In very cold weather (below 5°C or 41°F), SAE 5W-30 is recommended for easier starting. Always use an NMMA certified FC-W oil if the Suzuki brand is unavailable.
• Does the engine come with oil pre-filled? No, the four-stroke Suzuki outboard motors do not come pre-filled with engine oil. You must add oil to the crankcase before its first use. The lower unit gear oil, however, is typically pre-filled by the factory but should be checked for the proper level.
