Raymarine SS164 1000W Depth & Temp Stainless Steel Through Hull 20° Transducer 200/50 kHz (8 pin)

Raymarine SS164 1000W Depth & Temp Stainless Steel Through Hull 20° Transducer 200/50 kHz (8 pin) offers professional-grade 1kW performance in a sleek, low-profile design. This 20° tilted element version is engineered for hulls with a deadrise between 16° and 24°, ensuring your sonar beam points directly at the seabed for the most accurate readings possible.

The SS164 is the ultimate solution for boat owners who want 1000W power but cannot or do not want to install a bulky fairing block. Its ingenious "tilted element" technology compensates for your hull's deadrise internally, meaning the transducer sits nearly flush with the hull. This reduces drag, improves water flow, and allows for crystal-clear sonar returns even at speeds up to 30 knots.

Equipped with a trio of high-performance ceramics, the SS164 is significantly more sensitive than standard 600W models—providing 6 times the sensitivity at 50 kHz. Whether you are trolling in blue water or searching for bottom structure at depths up to 500 metres, this transducer delivers the clarity and range required for a successful day on the water

Raymarine SS164 1000W Depth & Temp Stainless Steel Through Hull 20° Transducer 200/50 kHz (8 pin)Key Features

  • 1kW Professional Power: High-performance 1000W output for superior deep-water penetration and target separation.
  • 20° Tilted Element: Fixed 20° tilt compensates for hull deadrise angles of 16° to 24°, keeping the beam vertical without a fairing block.
  • Dual Frequency Versatility: * 50 kHz: Wide 22° beam for deep-water searching and reaching depths up to 500m (1,640ft). 200 kHz: Narrow 6° beam for high-detail baitfish spotting and bottom structure identification.
  • Low-Profile Design: Protrudes less than 6.35mm outside the hull, minimising drag and making it ideal for high-speed powerboats and trailered vessels.
  • Integrated Sensors: Provides both highly accurate Depth and fast-response Water Temperature data.
  • Premium Stainless Steel Housing: Robust and durable construction, ideal for installation in fibreglass, wood, or metal hulls.
  • Plug & Play Connectivity: Features the Raymarine 8-pin "DSM-style" connector, directly compatible with CP370, CP300, and legacy DSM modules (can be adapted for Axiom systems with optional cables).

Raymarine SS164 1000W Depth & Temp Stainless Steel Through Hull 20° Transducer 200/50 kHz (8 pin)FAQs

What makes the SS164 different from a standard 600W transducer?

The SS164 is a "Step-Up" transducer. While standard 600W units (like the SS60) are excellent for general use, the SS164 is six times more sensitive at 50 kHz and twice as sensitive at 200 kHz. This means better target separation, the ability to find fish in deeper water, and a much clearer picture at higher speeds.

Does this transducer require a large fairing block?

No, and that is its biggest advantage. The SS164 uses "Tilted Element" technology. The ceramic arrays are tilted inside the housing itself, meaning the transducer sits almost flush with your hull (protruding less than 6.35mm). This reduces drag, improves fuel efficiency, and makes it perfect for trailered boats where a fairing block would get in the way of rollers.

What does the "20° Tilt" mean, and is it right for my boat?

The "20° Tilt" version is designed specifically for boats with a hull deadrise (the V-angle of your hull) between 16° and 24°.

The internal tilt compensates for the slope of your hull, ensuring the sonar beam points straight down at the seabed rather than off to the side.

Note: If your deadrise is between 8° and 15°, you would need the 12° version instead.

What hull materials is the SS164 compatible with?

Because this model is made of high-grade Stainless Steel, it is compatible with all hull materials: Fiberglass, Wood, Steel, and Aluminium.

Pro Tip: If you are installing into a metal hull (Steel or Aluminium), you must use the included isolation bushing to prevent electrolytic corrosion.

Which Raymarine displays or sonar modules can I plug this into?

This specific model features an 8-pin "DSM-style" connector. It is a direct "plug-and-play" fit for:

Sonar Modules: CP370, CP300, DSM300, DSM30, and DSM250.

Axiom Users: If you are using an Axiom, Axiom Pro, or Axiom 2 Pro, you can still use this transducer by using a Raymarine adapter cable (please contact us for the specific part number for your setup).

How deep can the SS164 see?

Under ideal conditions, the SS164 can reach depths of:

    • 50 kHz (Low Frequency): Up to 549m (1,800ft).
    • 200 kHz (High Frequency): Up to 244m (800ft).
Its dual-frequency capability makes it just as effective for shallow-water structure fishing as it is for blue-water trolling.

Can I install this myself?

Installation requires drilling a 95mm (3.75") hole through your hull. While many of our customers are capable DIY-ers, we always recommend professional installation to ensure the hull is correctly sealed and the "Arrow" on top of the transducer is aligned perfectly with your keel (crucial for the tilted element to work).

Does it measure water temperature?

Yes. The SS164 includes a built-in, fast-response water temperature sensor, providing accurate data directly to your Raymarine display—essential for finding those temperature breaks where fish like to congregate.

Can I use this on a boat that goes faster than 30 knots?

The SS164 is specifically engineered for high-performance hulls. Because it is nearly flush-mount, it maintains a clean flow of water across the face of the transducer, providing excellent readings at speeds up to 30 knots and beyond, provided it is mounted in a "clean water" location away from strakes or intakes.
