Raymarine Pack of RV-312 RealVision 3D Plastic Thru Hull Txds, Port Starboard 12°
Raymarine Pack of RV-312 RealVision 3D Plastic Thru Hull Txds, Port Starboard 12° Allows you to easily identify underwater structures and locate fish with the lifelike clarity of RealVision 3D™ sonar. This comprehensive kit features a split-pair of transducers (Port and Starboard) designed to provide a full 180° of underwater coverage, ensuring that even boats with deep keels or significant underwater protrusions get a crystal-clear, unobstructed view.
The RV-312 is engineered for boats with a hull deadrise angle of 5° to 15°. Because the transducer elements are internally offset by 12°, there is no need for bulky fairing blocks. The low-profile, near-flush design ensures your vessel slips through the water without drag or cavitation, making it an excellent choice for trailered boats too.
Raymarine Pack of RV-312 RealVision 3D Plastic Thru Hull Txds, Port Starboard 12° Key Features
- 4-Channel Wide Spectrum CHIRP: Combines four distinct sonar technologies into one system: RealVision 3D™, DownVision™, SideVision™, and high-frequency CHIRP fish targeting.
- Unrivalled 3D Clarity: Experience a 360-degree, lifelike representation of the world beneath your boat. You can pan, tilt, and zoom the 3D image to examine structures from any angle.
- Stabilised Sonar Imagery: Featuring a built-in AHRS (Attitude and Heading Reference System), the RV-312 automatically compensates for vessel motion. This means you enjoy stable, sharp imagery even in swells and while manoeuvring.
- No Fairing Blocks Required: The 12° internal offset is designed specifically for hulls with a 5° to 15° deadrise, providing a clean, low-profile installation that minimises drag.
- Rugged Construction: Built with high-impact plastic bodies, these transducers are suitable for fibreglass, steel, or aluminium hulls.
- Fast Response Temperature Sensing: Includes a built-in sensor for quick and accurate sea temperature readings.
- Ready for Axiom: Designed for direct 'plug-and-play' connection to any Raymarine Axiom, Axiom+, or Axiom Pro multifunction display with a built-in RealVision 3D sonar module.

Raymarine Pack of RV-312 RealVision 3D Plastic Thru Hull Txds, Port Starboard 12° FAQs
Why do I need a pair of transducers instead of just one?
On many boats, a single thru-hull transducer can have its "view" blocked by the keel or the hull itself when looking sideways. By using a split pair—one on the port side and one on the starboard—you get a clear, unobstructed 180° view of the underwater world, ensuring the RealVision 3D, SideVision, and DownVision technologies work perfectly.
Is the RV-312 right for my boat's hull angle (deadrise)?
The RV-312 is specifically designed for hulls with a deadrise angle between 6° and 18°. The transducer elements are internally offset by 12° to compensate for the slope of your hull, meaning the sonar beams point straight down without the need for bulky fairing blocks.
Note: If your deadrise is between 0° and 6°, you require the RV-300. If it is between 14° and 26°, you should opt for the RV-320.
What hull materials is this plastic transducer suitable for?
The RV-312 features a rugged plastic (nylon) housing. It is ideal for fibreglass (GRP), steel, or aluminium hulls.
Important: We do not recommend installing plastic thru-hull transducers in wooden hulls, as the swelling of the wood can damage the plastic housing. For wooden hulls, a bronze transducer (RV-212) is the correct choice.
Which Raymarine displays are compatible with this pack?
The RV-312 connects directly to the back of any Raymarine Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom Pro, or Axiom 2 Pro multifunction display that has built-in RealVision 3D sonar. It uses a 25-pin connector. If you are unsure if your specific MFD supports RealVision 3D, just give us a call with your model number.
What sonar technologies will I gain with this system?
This is a 4-channel, Wide Spectrum CHIRP system. By installing the RV-312, you will have access to:
-
- RealVision 3D™: High-definition 3D imagery of the bottom and fish.
- DownVision™: Photo-like clarity of structure beneath the boat.
- SideVision™: See further out to the left and right of the hull.
- High-Frequency CHIRP: Traditional fish-targeting sonar with superior separation.
Does it provide water temperature and depth?
Yes. The RV-312 includes a built-in, fast-response water temperature sensor and provides accurate depth data to your Axiom display.
What is the "AHRS" mentioned in the specs?
The RV-312 features a built-in Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS). This internal gyro-stabiliser compensates for the motion of your boat. It ensures that even in swells or while turning, your 3D sonar imagery remains stable and clear rather than "wavy" or distorted.
Is it difficult to install?
Because the 12° offset is built into the housing, the RV-312 sits nearly flush with the hull. This "low-profile" design eliminates the need to cut fairing blocks, making it a much simpler installation for most boat owners and shipwrights. It is also an excellent choice for trailered boats as there is a very low risk of damage during launching or recovery.
Can I extend the cable if 10 metres isn't long enough?
Yes, Raymarine offers additional RealVision 3D extension cables (available in 3m, 5m, and 8m lengths) if your cable run from the bilge to the helm is particularly long. Feel free to add these to your order here at Morgan Marine.
Morgan Marine Expert Tip: Always ensure the "Port" and "Starboard" transducers are installed on the correct sides of the keel as labelled! Reversing them will cause your SideVision and 3D images to appear back-to-front on your screen.
