Raymarine Pack of RV-220 RealVision 3D Bronze Thru Hull Txds
Raymarine Pack of RV-220 RealVision 3D Bronze Thru Hull Txds are specifically engineered for boats with a deadrise angle between 15° and 25°, this 20° offset pair provides a professional, near-flush installation without the need for cumbersome fairing blocks. By splitting the signal between a port and starboard unit, the RV-220 system overcomes the "shadowing" effect of deep keels or hulls, ensuring a seamless 180-degree view of the world beneath your boat.
Whether you are navigating tricky structures or hunting for fish, the life-like clarity of RealVision 3D™ combined with stabilized CHIRP technology gives you the ultimate tactical advantage on the water.
Raymarine Pack of RV-220 RealVision 3D Bronze Thru Hull Txds Key Features
- All-In-One Sonar Technology: Experience 4-channel wide-spectrum CHIRP including RealVision 3D™, DownVision™, SideVision™, and high-frequency CHIRP fish targeting—all from a single system.
- Gyro-Stabilised Imagery: Features a built-in Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) that compensates for vessel motion. This means you get crystal-clear images even in swells, waves, or during aggressive manoeuvres.
- Low-Profile Bronze Construction: Crafted from rugged cast bronze, these transducers are built for longevity in fiberglass or wooden hulls. Their sleek, near-flush design minimizes drag and prevents cavitation, making them ideal for trailered boats.
- No Fairing Blocks Required: The internal 20° offset allows for a clean, professional finish on deep-V hulls, simplifying your installation and maintaining the hydrodynamic integrity of your boat.
- Direct Axiom Connectivity: Designed for a "plug-and-play" experience with Raymarine Axiom multifunction displays. The pack includes everything you need for a tidy, high-performance setup.
- Integrated Sensors: Includes a fast-response water temperature sensor for accurate, real-time data on your display.

Raymarine Pack of RV-220 RealVision 3D Bronze Thru Hull Txds FAQs
Why do I need two transducers instead of one?
On many boats, particularly those with deep keels or steep hull angles (deadrise), a single central transducer would have its view "blocked" by the hull itself when looking to the sides. By installing this port and starboard pair, the system provides a seamless 180° coverage under the boat, ensuring you see everything to the left, right, and directly beneath without any "shadows" from the keel.
Is the RV-220 right for my hull’s angle?
The RV-220 is specifically designed for hulls with a deadrise angle between 14° and 26°. Because the sonar elements are internally offset at 20°, they compensate for the slope of your hull. This means the sonar beams point straight down to the seabed without the need for bulky, drag-inducing fairing blocks.
Note: If your hull deadrise is flatter (0°–12°), please ask us about the RV-200 or RV-212 models instead.
Which hull materials is this kit suitable for?
The RV-220 features rugged cast-bronze bodies. These are ideal for glassfibre (GRP) and wooden hulls. Important: Bronze transducers should never be installed in metal hulls (Aluminium or Steel), as this can cause galvanic corrosion which may damage your hull. For metal boats, we recommend stainless steel or plastic alternatives.
What sonar technologies will I gain?
This is a 4-channel system that gives you four distinct views on your Axiom screen:
-
- RealVision 3D™: A lifelike 3D representation of the underwater world.
- DownVision™: High-definition, photo-like imagery of structure.
- SideVision™: Scans left and right to find fish and features up to 90 metres away.
- High-Frequency CHIRP: Traditional fish-targeting sonar for spotting individual baitfish and predators.
How deep can the RV-220 see?
While performance varies based on water conditions, you can typically expect:
-
- RealVision 3D and SideVision: Up to 90m (300ft).
- DownVision: Up to 180m (600ft).
- Traditional CHIRP: Up to 275m (900ft).
Will the image remain stable in rough Essex seas?
Yes. One of the standout features of the RV-220 is the built-in AHRS (Attitude and Heading Reference System). This internal gyro-stabiliser automatically compensates for the pitch, roll, and heave of your boat. Even in choppy conditions or while turning, your 3D sonar image remains stable and clear.
Which displays is this pack compatible with?
This system is designed for direct connection to the Raymarine Axiom, Axiom+, and Axiom Pro ranges that feature built-in RealVision 3D. There is no need for an external "black box" sonar module, making for a much cleaner installation behind your console.
Can I install this myself?
While many of our customers are capable DIYers, through-hull installation requires precise drilling and the use of marine-grade sealants. Raymarine recommends a certified technician for installation to ensure the best performance and to protect your warranty. If you are local to our Brightlingsea boatyard, our engineering team is on hand to help with professional fitting and commissioning.
