Raymarine i70s, Wireless Wind, DST810

Raymarine i70s, Wireless Wind, DST810 is the ultimate solution for cruisers and racers alike who want a high-visibility, networked instrument system without the headache of complex wiring.

At the heart of the system is the i70s Multifunction Colour Display, a brilliantly bright 4.1" screen that is easily readable even in the harshest midday sun or the driving rain of a British winter. This pack pairs the display with the Airmar DST810 Gen2 Smart Transducer, which provides ultra-accurate depth, speed, and temperature data, alongside an integrated attitude sensor for heel and trim.

To complete the suite, the Micro-Talk™ Wireless Gateway and T120 Wireless Wind Transducer remove the need to run cables down your mast, providing high-performance wind data with minimal fuss. This system is fully NMEA2000 and SeaTalkng compatible, allowing it to sit at the centre of your boat's data network.

Raymarine i70s, Wireless Wind, DST810 Key Features

  • Wireless Wind Technology: The included T120 wireless masthead transducer communicates directly with the Micro-Talk™ gateway. This means no cables through the mast, reducing weight aloft and making installation remarkably simple.
  • The DST810 "Smart" Advantage: This Gen2 through-hull transducer is a game-changer. Beyond depth and speed, it features an integrated attitude sensor to measure your boat's heel and trim. This data is used to provide heel-compensated speed readings, ensuring your "speed through water" is accurate even when the boat is powered up and heeling.
  • Smartphone Calibration (Bluetooth): Use the Airmar CAST™ app to calibrate your DST810 transducer directly from your phone. You can perform advanced speed calibrations at multiple speeds and angles without needing a separate interface.
  • Brilliant i70s Display: The 4.1" oversized LCD is optically bonded for "all-weather" performance. This eliminates fogging, enhances contrast, and provides wide 160-degree viewing angles—essential when you’re viewing data from the cockpit coaming.
  • Fully Customisable Interface: Whether you prefer a traditional analogue wind vane, a digital depth readout, or a graphical history of your boat's speed, the LightHouse user interface allows you to build the data pages that matter most to your sailing style.
  • AIS Repeater Capability: When networked with an AIS receiver, the i70s can display nearby AIS targets in a dedicated repeater mode, helping you keep a safe watch in busy shipping lanes.
  • Complete Backbone Kit Included: This isn't just a set of sensors; it's a complete system. We provide the 5-way connector, backbone cables, power cables, and terminators required to get your SeaTalkng network up and running immediately.

What’s in the Box?

    • i70s Multifunction Colour Display (with suncover & bezel options)
    • Micro-Talk™ Wireless Performance Sailing Gateway
    • T120 Wireless Masthead Wind Transducer
    • DST810 Gen2 Smart Through-Hull Transducer (Depth, Speed, Temp & Attitude)
    • SeaTalkng 5-Way Connector & Backbone Kit (Cables and Terminators)
    • Full Installation and Mounting Hardware

Morgan Marine Expert Tip: "The DST810 included in this pack is particularly impressive for UK sailors dealing with tidal waters. The 5.7Hz speed output provides a much smoother, more responsive reading on your display than older sensors, making it much easier to judge your performance against the tide.

Raymarine i70s, Wireless Wind, DST810 FAQs

What exactly is included in this system?

This setup provides a complete "all-in-one" solution for your primary sailing data. It typically includes:

    • The i70s Multifunction Display: A 4.1-inch, super-bright colour screen that acts as your main hub.
    • T120 Wireless Wind Transducer: A solar-powered masthead unit that sends wind speed and direction data without the need for cables down the mast.
    • Micro-Talk Wireless Gateway: The "bridge" that allows the wireless wind data to talk to your wired SeaTalkng network.
    • DST810 Gen2 Smart Transducer: A single through-hull fitting providing Depth, Speed (through water), and Temperature.

How does the "Wireless Wind" work if the rest of the system is wired?

The T120 Wind Transducer is solar-powered and communicates wirelessly using Raymarine’s Micronet technology. The included Micro-Talk Gateway is a small puck that plugs into your wired backbone. It receives the wireless signal from the masthead and converts it into data the i70s display can understand. This saves you the significant labour (and weight) of routing 30 metres of cable through your mast.

What makes the DST810 "Smart" compared to older transducers?

The DST810 is a game-changer for accuracy. Unlike standard transducers, it features a built-in attitude sensor that measures your boat's heel and trim. It uses this data to automatically calibrate your speed-through-water readings, ensuring you get accurate data even when the boat is heeling.

Can I calibrate the system from my phone?

Yes! The DST810 has integrated Bluetooth. You can download the Airmar CAST app on your smartphone to perform advanced speed and depth calibrations directly from the palm of your hand, rather than having to click through several menus on the instrument display.

Is the i70s display easy to read in direct sunlight?

Absolutely. Raymarine uses "optically bonded" display technology. This eliminates the air gap between the glass and the LCD, which prevents internal fogging and significantly improves contrast and viewing angles. Even in the brightest UK summer sun, the 1,200-nit brightness ensures the digits are crisp and clear.

I already have an older Raymarine MFD (like an aSeries or eSeries). Will this work?

Yes. The i70s and the transducers use the SeaTalkng (NMEA 2000) protocol. If your existing equipment is on a SeaTalkng or NMEA 2000 network, it will integrate seamlessly. If you have very old "SeaTalk 1" (round-pin) equipment, you may need a SeaTalk to SeaTalkng converter kit, which we also stock here at Morgan Marine.

Does the i70s show AIS data?

Yes, it does. If you have an AIS receiver or transceiver on your network, the i70s features a dedicated AIS Repeater mode. It can show you a graphical "radar-style" view of the 25 closest AIS-equipped vessels, allowing you to select individual targets to see their name, MMSI, and bearing.

How much power does the system consume?

It is very efficient, which is ideal for sailing. The i70s display typically draws around 1.7 Watts (132mA at 12V). Because the wind transducer is solar-powered with its own internal battery (offering up to 300 hours of autonomy in total darkness), it places zero load on your house batteries.

Is it difficult to install?

The "plug-and-play" nature of SeaTalkng makes the wiring very straightforward—it’s essentially a backbone with "spur" cables for each device. The hardest part is usually the physical mounting of the through-hull transducer and the display. If you are comfortable with basic DIY and drilling a 51mm (2") hole for the DST810, it is a very manageable project.

Can I customise what I see on the screen?

One of the best features of the i70s is its flexibility. You can choose between:

    • Digital: Large, clear numbers.
    • Analogue: Classic "needle" displays for wind or depth.
    • Graphical: Scrolling plots for depth or wind history. You can set up multiple "Favourite" pages and scroll through them using the sculpted rubber keypad.

Morgan Marine Expert Tip: If you are replacing an older ST60 or i60 system, the i70s has a slightly different footprint. We recommend checking the surface area of your current dash to ensure a clean fit, or ask us about our adapter plates!
