Raymarine i50 & i60 Wind, Speed, Depth System, with Short Arm Wind Transducer Key Features
- i50 Speed Instrument Display: Real-time speed through water, SOG (via GPS), and sea temperature.
- i50 Depth Instrument Display: High-contrast depth readouts with alarms for shallow and deep water.
- i60 Wind Instrument Display: Combines a traditional analogue needle for wind angle with a digital LCD for wind speed.
- Short Arm Wind Transducer: High-accuracy masthead unit with 30m of cable.
- ST900/P120 Through-Hull Transducer: Retractable speed and temperature sensor.
- P319 Through-Hull Transducer: Low-profile depth sensor.
- Full Cabling Kit: Includes SeaTalkng spur cables, blanking plugs, and sun covers.
- Superior Visibility: Every display is engineered with high-contrast LCDs and oversized digits. Coupled with red backlighting, you are guaranteed excellent readability in bright midday sun or the pitch black of a night passage.
- Built for the Elements: With an IPX6 waterproof rating, these units are designed to withstand the harsh marine environment on the open deck.
- Seamless Integration: Fully compatible with SeaTalkng, NMEA2000, and legacy SeaTalk networks. They integrate effortlessly with your existing Raymarine autopilots and chartplotters.
-
Simple Installation: The front-mount design makes installation a breeze. Plus, the 110mm x 115mm footprint is identical to the older Raymarine ST60+ series, making this the ideal "drop-in" upgrade for many vessels.
- Low Power Consumption: Engineered for efficiency, the system minimises draw on your house batteries, ensuring your critical data stays live for longer.
- Customisable Control: Features "Group Dimming" technology, allowing you to adjust the brightness of your entire instrument suite simultaneously from a single display.
Morgan Marine Expert Tip: This pack is our "gold standard" recommendation for owners looking to refresh their helm. It replaces three separate systems with one integrated network, giving you more accurate data and a much cleaner dashboard layout.
Raymarine i50 & i60 Wind, Speed, Depth System, with Short Arm Wind Transducer FAQs
Will this fit in the same space as my old ST60+ instruments?
Yes! This is one of the best features for those of us refitting older boats. The i50 and i60 series have an identical footprint (110mm x 115mm) to the older ST60 and ST60+ units. You can swap them over using the same mounting holes, making it a very clean upgrade for your dashboard or console.
Can I see 'True' wind or just 'Apparent' wind?
The i60 Wind display shows Apparent Wind (the wind you feel while moving) as standard. To calculate True Wind (the actual wind over the water), the system requires boat speed data. Because this pack includes the speed transducer, your network will have all the data it needs to calculate and display True Wind speed and angle automatically.
Are the transducers "through-hull"? Do I need to drill holes?
Yes, the P120 (Speed) and P319 (Depth) are through-hull transducers. The P120 Speed transducer is a retractable "insert" model. This is brilliant because it allows you to pull the paddlewheel out from inside the boat (using a blanking plug provided) to clean off weed or barnacles without hauling the boat out of the water. The P319 Depth is a low-profile permanent through-hull.
Is the wind transducer wireless?
No, the Short Arm Wind Transducer included in this specific pack is a wired unit. It comes with 30 metres of heavy-duty cable to run down your mast. If you are looking for a wireless solution to avoid running cables, please give us a call at the shop and we can discuss the Raymarine Wireless (formerly Tacktick) options.
How easy are these to read at night?
Raymarine has done a fantastic job with the visibility here. Both the i50 and i60 feature high-contrast LCDs and red backlighting, which is essential for preserving your night vision while on a passage. You can also link the displays so that when you dim one, they all dim together.
Can I connect this to my modern Chartplotter?
Absolutely. These instruments are SeaTalkng (NMEA 2000) compatible. If you have a modern Raymarine Axiom or an older eS Series plotter, these instruments will share data across the network. You’ll be able to see your depth and wind data on your plotter screen as well as on the dedicated displays.
What is the difference between the i50 and the i60?
It’s mostly down to how the data is shown. The i50 series (Speed and Depth) uses large, bold digital numbers, which are perfect for a quick glance. The i60 series (Wind) uses an analogue needle for wind direction, which most sailors find much more intuitive for trimming sails, alongside a digital window for wind speed.
Is the system waterproof?
Yes, the displays are rated to IPX6 standards. This means they are built to withstand heavy seas and powerful jets of water—more than enough for a cockpit or flybridge installation.
Do I need to buy anything else to make it work?
This pack is very complete for a standard installation. However, if your boat is particularly large, you might need additional SeaTalkng backbone cables to reach from the cockpit to the transducers. Also, if you are connecting to an older SeaTalk 1 network (the old yellow 3-pin plugs), you will need a SeaTalk to SeaTalkng converter kit.
