Raymarine B175L Bronze Low Profile 1000W D/T Through Hull Transducer 20° Angle

Raymarine B175L Bronze Low Profile 1000W D/T Through Hull Transducer 20° Angle are a powerhouse of a transducer, designed for boaters who need to see exactly what lies beneath in the most challenging depths.

This 1kW "Low CHIRP" specialist is engineered to punch through the water column, providing exceptional bottom tracking and target detail down to depths of 762m (2,500'). Whether you are hunting for deep-dwelling species or navigating unfamiliar coastal waters, the B175L delivers the clarity and range that standard transducers simply cannot match.

One of the standout benefits of the B175L is its low-profile bronze housing. Unlike traditional "block" transducers that require large fairing blocks, this unit sits nearly flush against your hull. This design significantly reduces drag and ensures the transducer performs exceptionally well even at higher cruising speeds—making it the ideal choice for centre consoles and fast displacement hulls.

This specific model features a 20° fixed tilt, designed for vessels with a hull deadrise between 16° and 24°. By tilting the internal ceramic element, the sonar beam is directed straight down towards the seabed, compensating for the angle of your hull without the need for a bulky external fairing

Raymarine B175L Bronze Low Profile 1000W D/T Through Hull Transducer 20° Angle Key Features

  • 1000W Power Rating: High-output 1kW performance for incredible depth penetration and target separation.
  • Low CHIRP Frequency: Operates across the 40kHz to 60kHz bandwidth, perfect for deep-water tracking and seeing through dense bait balls.
  • 20° Tilted Element: Optimised for hulls with a 16° to 24° deadrise—ensuring your sonar beam points vertically for maximum echo returns.
  • Extreme Depth Range: Capable of reaching depths up to 762 metres (2,500 feet) in ideal conditions.
  • Integrated Temperature Sensor: Includes a fast-response water temperature sensor for accurate real-time data.
  • Low-Profile Bronze Housing: Durable, corrosion-resistant bronze construction that minimises drag and improves high-speed performance.
  • Versatile Installation: Can be used as a standalone deep-water sensor (requires A80328 cable) or paired with a High/Medium CHIRP transducer for full-spectrum coverage.

Technical Specifications

    • Material: Bronze (Suitable for fibreglass or wood hulls)
    • Frequency: 40–60 kHz (Low CHIRP)
    • Beamwidth: 32° to 21°
    • Cable Length: 10m (33ft)
    • Max Depth: 762m (2,500ft)

Morgan Marine Expert Tip: To get the very best out of your Raymarine system, we recommend pairing the B175L with a B175H (High CHIRP) transducer using a Y-cable. This "dual-frequency" setup gives you the ultimate combination of deep-water bottom tracking and high-resolution target detail in shallower water.

Raymarine B175L Bronze Low Profile 1000W D/T Through Hull Transducer 20° Angle FAQs

What does the ‘L’ in B175L stand for?

The ‘L’ stands for Low Frequency (40-60 kHz). This frequency band is designed specifically for deep-water performance. It provides excellent bottom tracking at great depths—up to 762m (2,500ft) in ideal conditions—and has a wide beamwidth (32° to 21°) to help you find targets in the deep.

Why do I need the 20° Tilted Element version?

This is the most crucial part of your selection! Because this transducer is mounted "low profile" (nearly flush to your hull), it doesn't use a fairing block to level it. Instead, the ceramic element inside the bronze housing is permanently tilted at 20°.

The 20° version is designed for hulls with a deadrise angle of 16° to 24°.

By matching the tilt to your hull's deadrise, the sonar beam points straight down at the seabed rather than off at an angle, ensuring you get the most accurate depth readings and strongest echo returns.

Is this transducer compatible with my boat's hull material?

The B175L is housed in Bronze. This makes it ideal for glassfibre (GRP) or wood hulls.

Please note: If you have an aluminium or steel hull, you should not use bronze due to the risk of electrolytic corrosion. For metal hulls, please ask us about the Stainless Steel (SS175L) equivalent.

What information will this provide on my display?

The B175L is a "D/T" model, meaning it provides both Depth and Temperature data. It features a fast-response water-temperature sensor, which is vital for finding those temperature breaks where fish often congregate.

Can I use this on a trailer boat?

Yes, absolutely. One of the main benefits of the B175 series is its low-profile design. Because it protrudes less than 6.35mm (1/4 inch) outside the hull, it won't interfere with trailer rollers or bunks, making it the perfect choice for high-performance centre consoles and trailer able offshore boats.

Which Raymarine sonar modules or displays can I plug this into?

This is a 1kW CHIRP-ready transducer. It is designed to work with Raymarine’s professional-grade sonar modules like the CP470 or CP570, and compatible Axiom multifunction displays.

Top Tip: If you are connecting this as a single transducer, you will likely need the Raymarine A80328 adapter cable. If you are pairing it with another B175 (like a High-Frequency version), you’ll need the A102146 Y-cable. If you're unsure, just give us a ring at the shop!

Do I need to buy two transducers?

The B175L is a single-band CHIRP transducer. While it is incredible for deep-water tracking, many of our customers pair it with a B175H (High Frequency) or B175M (Medium Frequency). This "dual-band" setup gives you the best of both worlds: the B175L for deep-bottom tracking and the High/Medium versions for high-resolution target separation in shallower water.

How difficult is the installation?

As this is a through-hull installation, it requires a 95mm (3-3/4") hole to be cut in your hull. While it’s a standard job for a professional, it’s vital that the "arrow" on the top of the transducer points toward the keel of your boat to ensure the tilt is aligned correctly. We always recommend professional installation to ensure a watertight seal and optimum performance.
