Raymarine B175L Bronze Low Profile 1000W D/T Through Hull Transducer 12° Angle

Raymarine B175L Bronze Low Profile 1000W D/T Through Hull Transducer 12° Angle are a powerhouse of a sensor, designed for those who need uncompromised depth performance and precision.

Constructed from high-quality bronze, this through-hull transducer is specifically engineered for fiberglass and wooden hulls. Its "Low Profile" design is a game-changer for trailerable boats; because it sits nearly flush to the hull (protruding less than 6mm), it can safely sit on trailer rollers or bunks without the risk of damage, all while providing exceptional sonar resolution even at high speeds.

The standout feature of this model is the 12° Tilted Element. By fixing the ceramic element at an angle inside the housing, it compensates for your boat’s deadrise (specifically 8° to 15°). This ensures the sonar beam is aimed straight down at the seabed, providing the most accurate depth readings and the strongest possible echo returns. Whether you’re tracking the bottom in deep canyons or hunting for trophy fish, the B175L delivers the clarity you need.

Raymarine B175L Bronze Low Profile 1000W D/T Through Hull Transducer 12° Angle Key Features

  • 1kW High-Power Performance: Delivering 1000 Watts of power, this transducer is built for deep-water performance, reaching depths of up to 762m (2,500ft).
  • Low-Frequency CHIRP: Operates across the 40-60 kHz frequency band, providing a wide beamwidth (32° to 21°) for excellent coverage and superior tracking of the sea floor and deep-dwelling targets.
  • Tilted Element Technology: The 12° internal tilt is perfectly suited for hulls with a deadrise of 8° to 15°, eliminating the need for a bulky fairing block and maintaining a clean, hydrodynamic hull.
  • Built for Speed: The low-profile bronze housing reduces drag and turbulence, ensuring your fishfinder remains clear and functional even when you're on the plane.
  • Integrated Sensors: Provides both high-accuracy depth and fast-response water temperature data directly to your Raymarine display.
  • Rugged Bronze Construction: Durable and corrosion-resistant, designed specifically for installation in wood or fiberglass hulls.
  • System Compatibility: Designed for use with Raymarine Axiom Pro-series and CHIRP sonar modules (CP470, CP570). Note: Connection may require a specific adapter cable depending on your setup.

Raymarine B175L Bronze Low Profile 1000W D/T Through Hull Transducer 12° Angle FAQs

What is the benefit of the 'Low Profile' design?

The B175L is designed to sit nearly flush against your hull. This "low profile" housing is perfect for trailerable boats because it won't get damaged by trailer rollers or bunks. Additionally, its streamlined shape creates less drag and turbulence, allowing for clearer sonar readings at higher cruising speeds compared to traditional external "fairing block" transducers.

Why do I need the 12° Tilted Element version?

This is the most critical part of your purchase! The ceramic element inside this transducer is permanently tilted at 12°. You need this version if your boat’s hull deadrise (the angle of the "V" at the mounting location) is between 8° and 15°.

The Goal: By matching the internal tilt to your hull’s deadrise, the sonar beam points straight down at the seabed rather than off to the side, ensuring the most accurate depth readings and strongest echo returns.

What does "Low Frequency" (L) CHIRP actually do for my fishing?

The B175L operates in the 40-60 kHz range. In the world of sonar, lower frequencies travel deeper and wider. This transducer is your "deep water specialist," capable of tracking the bottom down to roughly 762 metres (2,500 feet). It is excellent for finding deep-water structures and tracking the seabed while travelling at speed.

Can I use this transducer on its own?

Yes, you can, but there’s a catch. Because this is a single-band (Low) transducer, you will only see the "Low" frequency view on your Raymarine display.

    • For a single installation: You will typically need the A80328 single operation cable.
    • The Pro Setup: Most of our customers pair this with a B175H (High Frequency) or B175M (Medium Frequency) transducer using a Y-cable (A102146). This gives you the ultimate dual-band CHIRP setup: deep-water depth from the "L" and incredible target separation from the "H" or "M".

Is this transducer compatible with my hull material?

The B175L features a bronze housing.

Compatible: Fibreglass (GRP) and Wood hulls.

NOT Compatible: Aluminium or Steel hulls. (Installing bronze on a metal hull will cause galvanic corrosion, which can damage your boat. For metal hulls, please ask us about the Stainless Steel SS175 equivalent).

Does it measure temperature as well as depth?

Yes, it does. The "D/T" in the name stands for Depth and Temperature. It features a fast-response water temperature sensor, which is vital for finding those "temperature breaks" where fish like to congregate.

Is it "Plug and Play" with my Raymarine MFD?

It is compatible with Raymarine’s premium sonar modules, such as the CP470 or CP570, and directly into Axiom models that support 1kW CHIRP. However, depending on your specific display model, you may need a specific adapter cable or the aforementioned Y-cable. If you aren't sure, just give us a ring at the shop with your display's model number, and we’ll confirm exactly what you need.

What size hole needs to be cut in my hull?

For a standard fibreglass or wood installation, you will need a 95mm (3-3/4") hole saw. We always recommend professional installation for through-hull transducers to ensure a watertight seal and proper alignment of the "tilt" arrow towards the keel.

Morgan Marine Expert Tip: When installing, look for the arrow on the top of the transducer. This arrow must point towards the keel of your boat to ensure the internal 12° tilt is counteracting the hull's deadrise correctly!
