Ocean ISO Ultralite Liferaft less than 24 Hour - Valise FAQs

What is the "Ultralite" difference?
The Ocean ISO Ultralight uses carbon composite technology for its inflation system, making it up to 30% lighter than standard Ocean ISO life rafts. This makes larger rafts (e.g., 10 or 12-person) significantly easier to handle and deploy from a valise.

What is included in the "<24 Hour" survival pack?
Designed for situations where rescue is expected within a day, the internal equipment pack typically includes:
  • data-complete="true" class="Yjhzub">Flares:2 red parachute rocket flares and 3 red handheld flares.
  • Navigation/Signalling: 2 buoyant paddles, 1 signalling mirror (heliograph), 1 whistle, and 1 waterproof torch (with spare batteries/bulb).
  • Survival Essentials: 6 anti-seasickness pills per person, 1 repair kit, 1 bellows, 1 bailer, and 2 sponges.
  • Safety Gear: 1 buoyant knife, 1 sea anchor (drogue) attached to the raft, and 1 rescue quoit with line.

data-complete="true" class="Yjhzub">How often does it need servicing?

    • Service Interval: Every 3 years
    • Note for Coded Vessels: If used on a commercially coded vessel, valise-packed life rafts may require annual servicing regardless of the manufacturer's leisure interval.
    • Warranty: Many models carry a 12-year limited warranty, provided the 3-year service schedule is maintained at an authorized station.

What safety certifications does it meet?

The raft is third-party approved to ISO 9650 Type 1 Group A requirements. It also meets French Regulations (Division 240/333) and is compliant with World Sailing Offshore Special Regulations and MCA Codes of Practice (Class XII) when paired with a grab bag.
