How do I choose the correct size for my boat?

There is no single correct answer, as factors like boat length, displacement, and weather conditions play a role. Lewmar provides a general selection guide that pairs anchor weight with recommended boat length and chain size. For example, a 10 kg (22 lb) anchor is generally recommended for boats between 9.2m and 12.2m (30-40 ft). If in doubt, it is best to move up a model in size.

The DTX anchor is considered versatile and suitable for a variety of seabed conditions, including sand, mud, clay, grass, and weeds.

What accessories are recommended?

A bow roller is needed to safely store the anchor and protect the hull during deployment and retrieval.
