Honwave T38 IE 3.8m Air V Floor

Honwave T38 IE 3.8m Air V Floor are designed for those who demand performance without the hassle of a trailer, this model is the ultimate choice for coastal cruising, family excursions, or as a high-capacity tender.

The standout feature of the Honwave T38-IE is its high-pressure Air V-Floor. This design effectively mimics the hull of a rigid boat, providing a deep-V shape that cuts through choppy water with ease. The vibration-dampening floor ensures a significantly smoother ride compared to traditional inflatables, while the extended rear trim pads provide effortless agility and stability even at higher speeds.

Constructed from 1.1mm European PVC, this boat is engineered to endure harsh UV rays and saltwater. The T38-IE features an extra-wide tube diameter to maximise buoyancy and safety, complemented by a reinforced GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) transom that provides a rock-solid mounting point for your outboard engine.

Honwave T38 IE 3.8m Air V Floor FAQs

What makes the "Air V Floor" different from a standard inflatable floor?

The T38-IE features an integrated deep-V hull design. Unlike flat inflatable floors, this floor is "high-pressure" and shaped into a sharp 'V' at the bow. This significantly improves keel performance, allowing the boat to cut through choppy water much more smoothly and providing far better stability at speed. It gives you the performance of a rigid boat with the convenience of an inflatable.

How many people can comfortably fit on the T38-IE?

The boat is officially rated for 5 adults and 1 child. With a total loaded weight capacity of 950kg, there is plenty of buoyancy. However, for a day out with gear and an outboard, we find it’s the "sweet spot" for a family of four or five to explore comfortably.

What is the maximum engine size I can fit?

The T38-IE is incredibly capable and can handle an outboard engine up to 25hp (though it performs brilliantly with a 15hp or 20hp if you want a lighter setup). Because of its rigid V-floor, it can handle the extra power and get onto the plane very quickly.

Is it easy to transport? Do I need a trailer?

One of the best things about the Honwave range is portability. The bare boat weighs just 48kg. When deflated, it packs down to approximately 122cm x 72cm x 43cm, meaning it will fit into the back of most estate cars or large SUVs. No trailer is required, though many of our customers choose to use launch wheels for easy moving from the car to the slipway.

How long does it take to set up?

Because it has an inflatable floor rather than heavy aluminium or wooden slats, setup is much faster. Using the included high-capacity pump, you can usually have the boat fully inflated and ready for the engine in about 10 to 15 minutes.

What "New Model" features are included?

Honda has recently updated the design, and our current stock includes all the latest refinements:

    • New Bow Roller: Reduces rope wear on the tubes when anchoring.
    • Internal Oar Storage: Oars are now stored inside the tubes rather than on top, making it much more comfortable to sit on the side of the boat.
    • Lift-Type Drain Valve: A redesigned valve that can’t be accidentally knocked open while you’re under way.
    • Loop Handles: Improved ergonomics for carrying and a cleaner, more modern look.

Is the material durable enough for coastal use?

Absolutely. All Honwave models are constructed using a high-quality, durable PVC fabric. It is designed to be UV resistant and robust enough for the rigours of sea salt, sand, and coastal excursions.
