Highfield Ultralite 310 PVC
Highfield Ultralite 310 PVC is the ideal choice for those who need a larger tender without the heavy lifting. Weighing in at just 50kg, this RIB is easy to launch, recover, and manhandle on deck or on a trailer, yet it offers the confidence and stability required to explore further afield.
Built with a high-tensile chromated and powder-coated aluminium hull, the UL310 is designed to withstand the rigours of the British coastline. Unlike traditional GRP tenders, this aluminium hull won't chip when beaching on shingles or pulling up onto slipways. The simple, uncluttered layout provides a surprisingly generous amount of internal space, comfortably accommodating up to five passengers.
Whether you are looking for a dependable ship-to-shore tender or a versatile small family RIB for coastal adventures, the Ultralite 310 delivers exceptional performance and durability.

Highfield Ultralite 310 PVC FAQs
How many people can the Ultralite 310 safely carry?
The UL310 is incredibly spacious for its size. It is officially rated to carry 5 passengers, making it an ideal choice for larger families or for ferrying crew and supplies from ship to shore.
What is the benefit of an aluminium hull over traditional GRP (fibreglass)?
As specialists, this is our favourite feature! Aluminium is significantly lighter and tougher than GRP. You won’t have to worry about gelcoat chips when beaching on shingle or pulling up onto a slipway. Furthermore, aluminium does not absorb water over time, meaning your boat will weigh exactly the same in ten years as it does today, preserving its agile performance.
Can I really launch and recover this boat on my own?
Yes, absolutely. The "Ultralite" name isn't just marketing—the boat only weighs 50kg (dry weight, boat only). This makes it light enough for a single person to manhandle on a beach, launch from a trolley, or even transport on a sturdy car roof rack.
What size outboard engine do you recommend?
The UL310 is rated for a maximum of 15hp, which provides exhilarating performance. However, for most users acting as a tender, a 10hp short-shaft engine is the "sweet spot"—offering plenty of power to get on the plane with a load while remaining easy to lift and fuel-efficient. Here at Morgan Marine, we can supply and fit a range of new or used outboards to complete your package.
What is the difference between PVC and Hypalon?
The PVC used by Highfield (Valmex®) is a high-quality, German-engineered fabric that is lightweight and excellent for use in the UK climate. While Hypalon offers better UV resistance in tropical environments, our PVC models are highly durable, feature welded seams, and offer a more cost-effective entry point for British boaters.
What warranty comes with the Highfield Ultralite 310?
Highfield stands by its build quality. When you register your purchase, you receive:
-
- 5 Years on the PVC fabric (airtightness).
- 5 Years on the structural integrity of the aluminium hull.
- 2 Years on the paint/powder coating and other components.
Is the deck self-draining?
Yes. The UL310 features a self-draining deck. When you’re underway, the built-in non-return valves allow any water on deck to drain out automatically via the venture effect. When at anchor or moored, simply keep the plug sealed.
What accessories are included as standard?
When you buy from Morgan Marine, your UL310 comes "ready to go" with:
-
- A removable aluminium seat
- High-quality oars and rowlocks
- Foot pump and repair kit
- An under-seat bag for storage
- An integrated keel guard (to protect the hull during beaching)
How should I store my PVC tender during the winter?
We recommend washing the boat down with fresh water to remove salt and grit. If possible, store it slightly deflated in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Using a dedicated Highfield boat cover (available as an optional extra) is a great way to protect the tubes from the elements when not in use.
