Highfield Classic 310 HYP FAQs
Is the hull durable?
Yes, the hull is made of 2.5mm thick high-tensile, powder-coated aluminium, which is durable, lightweight, and, unlike fiberglass, will not absorb water over time. A full-length keel guard is included for added protection when beaching.
Does it have storage?
Yes, all Classic models feature a bow locker that can stow a 24L (approx. 6 gallon ) fuel tank out of sight, and the double deck design allows fuel lines to run under the floor. An under-seat bag and a Highfield dry bag are also standard accessories.
Is the deck comfortable and self-draining?
The deck is self-draining and covered with soft, non-skid, easy-to-clean brushed foam teak finish (EVA foam).
Why choose Hypalon over PVC?
Hypalon models offer superior resistance to abrasions, UV rays, and chemicals compared to PVC. Highfield's Hypalon tubes feature cold-bonded seams that provide reliable, long-lasting performance in all climates, offering exceptional durability for serious use.
What are the potential downsides of Hypalon?
Hypalon models are typically more expensive than their PVC counterparts due to the advanced material properties and the labour-intensive cold-bonding (gluing) manufacturing process.
What is the warranty difference?
The standard warranty is two years, but registration typically extends it to ten years on the Hypalon tubes and ten years on the aluminium hull.
What is the recommended engine size?
The recommended motor is 15 HP (short shaft), with a maximum rating of 20 HP. Overpowering the boat can be dangerous and damage the vessel.
How fast can it go?
When powered by a 10 HP engine, the boat can reach a top speed of around 18 knots (approx. 20 mph). Speeds will vary based on engine power, load, and water conditions.
What safety equipment is included or required?
A foot pump, oars, and a repair kit are included. Buyers must equip the boat with essential safety gear like life jackets for every passenger and use the engine's kill switch lanyard while operating.
