Garmin Panoptix PS70 With Transducer and Fairing Block

Garmin Panoptix PS70 With Transducer and Fairing Block are a high-powered, thru-hull marine sonar system designed for deep-sea fishing, providing real-time, live sonar views of fish and seafloor structure down to 1,000 feet (300 meters). The included fairing block allows for proper installation and alignment on various hull angles.

Garmin Panoptix PS70 With Transducer and Fairing Block Key Features

  • Garmin RapidReturn Sonar: This technology sends multiple simultaneous pings to deliver live, real-time sonar images and updates at a minimum of 10 frames per second, allowing anglers to track fast-moving fish and bait.
  • Multiple Sonar Modes: The system offers four display modes that can be selected depending on the fishing scenario:
    • LiveVü™ Down: Provides a real-time, 120-degree wide view of the water column directly beneath the boat.
    • Traditional Sonar: Displays crisp, clear fish arches with excellent target separation.
    • Triple-Beam Sonar: Splits the display into three columns (port, starboard, and down) in a traditional sonar view, and the beam angles can be adjusted.
    • RealVü™ 3D Historical: Creates a detailed 3D map of the ocean floor and water column as the boat moves, showing the entire area passed over.
  • Wide Sonar Beam: A 120-degree by 8-degree beam width helps quickly locate fish and cover large areas of water.
  • Image Stabilization: An internal AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System) sensor stabilizes the sonar returns to ensure a clear and steady view, even in rough sea conditions.
  • QuickDraw Contours Feature: This enhanced feature allows users to survey and record detailed contour maps of wide areas of the sea floor in real time at depths up to 1,000 feet.
  • Durable Construction: The transducer is made of stainless steel and built to withstand offshore conditions, with an 800-watt power output for strong water penetration.
Transducer and Fairing Block
The Garmin Panoptix PS70 comes as a thru-hull transducer, designed for permanent, professional installation through the boat's hull. The included fairing block is designed to be cut to match the boat's specific deadrise angle (0 to 20 degrees), ensuring the transducer is positioned correctly (parallel to the waterline) for optimal sonar performance and to minimize drag. The fairing block is rugged enough for high operating speeds and offshore conditions

The standard package includes the following items:
  • PS70 down-looking thru-hull down transducer
  • Fairing block
  • Stainless steel thru-hull mounting hardware

Garmin Panoptix PS70 With Transducer and Fairing Block FAQs

    • What is the maximum depth and range? The PS70 provides live sonar views up to 1,000 feet (300 meters) below the surface in saltwater.
    • How fast is the sonar update rate? It updates images at a minimum of 10 frames per second, which is significantly faster than many competing deep-water sonars, thanks to Garmin RapidReturn™ technology.
    • What is the sonar beamwidth? The wide 120-degree by 8-degree sonar beam helps in quickly locating bait and fish over a large area.
    • Does it work in rough water? Yes, an internal Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) sensor provides image stabilization to ensure a clear view even in rough offshore conditions.
    • What sonar modes are available? Buyers can choose from multiple modes including LiveVü™ Down, traditional sonar, triple-beam sonar (port, starboard, and down views), and RealVü™ 3D historical scanning.
    • What type of mounting is used? It is a thru-hull installation design, which can be flush-mounted or pocket-mounted.
    • What is the purpose of the included fairing block? The fairing block is included to accommodate boats with deadrise angles between 0 and 20 degrees, ensuring the transducer is properly aligned with the waterline for optimal performance, even at high operating speeds.
    • Can it be installed by a non-expert? Installation involves drilling holes in the hull and requires precise alignment and sealing, so it is recommended to be installed by experienced individuals or marine professionals.
