Garmin Panoptix PS70 Transducer Only

Garmin Panoptix PS70 Transducer Only are an 800-watt, stainless steel, thru-hull transducer that provides live sonar views up to 1,000 feet (300 meters) deep using Garmin RapidReturn™ sonar technology. It is designed for deep-sea anglers with larger boats and offers multiple viewing modes.

Garmin Panoptix PS70 Transducer Only Key Features

  • Live Sonar: Provides real-time, live sonar images down to 1,000 feet, which update at a minimum of 10 frames per second, significantly faster than traditional sonar at similar depths.
  • Multiple Sonar Modes: Users can switch between several modes including LiveVü™ Down, traditional sonar, triple-beam sonar, and RealVü™ 3D historical scanning technology to suit different fishing conditions.
  • Wide Sonar Beam: Features a wide 120-degree by 8-degree beam angle to help locate bait and fish quickly over large areas.
  • Image Stabilization: An internal AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System) sensor stabilizes the sonar returns, providing a clear view even when the boat is moving or in rough waters.
  • Enhanced Mapping: Improves the QuickDraw Contours feature, allowing users to survey and record detailed bathymetric maps of wide areas of the seafloor in real time.
  • Thru-Hull Installation: Designed for permanent thru-hull installation, which can be flush-mounted or pocket-mounted, offering durability for offshore conditions.
  • High Power: The 800-watt power output ensures stronger sonar penetration for reliable deep-water performance.
What's in the Box : The "transducer only" package typically includes the following items:
  • PS70 down-looking thru-hull transducer
  • Stainless steel thru-hull mounting hardware
  • Power cable
  • 12-meter (40 ft) network cable with network adapter
  • Documentation

Note that this "transducer only" version does not include the optional fairing block, which is generally recommended for boats with deadrise angles between 0 and 20 degrees for optimal high-speed performance

Garmin Panoptix PS70 Transducer Only FAQs

    • What is the "transducer only" option? The "transducer only" version (Part Number: 010-02768-10) is the Panoptix PS70 thru-hull transducer without the fairing block and some other mounting hardware. It includes the power cable, network cable with adapter, and documentation.
    • What are the key performance features of the It uses Garmin Rapid Return sonar technology to provide live, real-time views up to 1,000 feet (300 meters) deep. Images update at a minimum of 10 frames per second, which is faster than many competing systems.
      • It features an 800-watt power output for strong sonar penetration.
      • An internal sensor provides image stabilization for a clear view even in rough waters.
    • What sonar modes are available?
      • LiveVü Down: Provides real-time live sonar images of what is happening under the boat.
      • Traditional Sonar: Offers crisp fish arches and target separation.
      • Triple-Beam Sonar: A three-way split of traditional sonar views showing port, starboard, and directly under the boat, with adjustable beam angles.
      • RealVü 3D Historical: Shows a 3D historical scanning view of the water column and ocean floor you have passed over, which can be enhanced with the TrueMotion feature (requires GPS signal/heading sensor).
    • What is the beam angle? The transducer has a wide 120-degree by 8-degree sonar beam, covering significant areas of water.
    • Is a fairing block necessary? A fairing block is recommended for boats with deadrise angles between 5 and 20 degrees to ensure the transducer is parallel to the waterline for optimal performance. If flush-mounting or pocket-mounting in the keel, a fairing block may not be needed.
    • Is it compatible with my chartplotter? The  PS70 is compatible with specific Garmin GPSMAP chartplotters that support Panoptix sonar. It connects via the Garmin Marine Network (small connector). Check your specific model's compatibility on the Garmin website.
    • Can it be tested out of the water? No, you cannot test the depth-reading ability of a transducer out of the water because air dissipates the sound waves, preventing a proper reading.
