Garmin Panoptix LiveScope System With LiveScope GLS 10 Sonar Black Box and Panoptix

Garmin Panoptix LiveScope System With LiveScope GLS 10 Sonar Black Box and Panoptix is quite simply the most significant leap in sonar technology we have seen in years.

This system provides a level of clarity that was previously unthinkable. It’s not just "scanning" the bottom; it is providing a live, moving image of what is happening beneath and around your boat in real-time. Whether you are a competitive angler or a weekend enthusiast, this system takes the guesswork out of your day on the water.

At Morgan Marine, we know that seeing is believing. With the LiveScope LVS32 transducer and the GLS 10 sonar black box, you can actually watch fish swimming and reacting to your lure. You can distinguish between species and see structure with such definition that you’ll wonder how you ever fished without it.

Garmin Panoptix LiveScope System With LiveScope GLS 10 Sonar Black Box and Panoptix Key Features

  • Real-Time Live Imagery: See highly detailed, easy-to-interpret live scanning sonar images. You can watch fish swimming near structure and even see your lure as you retrieve it—all in real-time, even when your boat is stationary.
  • Two Modes in One Transducer: * LiveScope™ Down: Provides a clear, live view of what is directly below your boat (up to 200 feet).
  • LiveScope™ Forward: Perfect for scouting ahead of your cast to see fish and structure up to 200 feet away.
  • Unrivalled Stability: Built-in Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) stabilisation keeps your sonar view steady on the screen, even when the water gets choppy or the conditions turn rough.
  • Vivid Colour Palettes: Customise your view with seven vivid colour options (including Aqua, Caribbean, and Lava) to achieve the best possible contrast and clarity for the specific light conditions you're fishing in.
  • Simple Integration: The compact GLS 10 sonar black box is designed for easy "plug-and-play" installation with your compatible Garmin chartplotter via the Garmin Marine Network.
  • Perspective Mode Capability: Add the optional Perspective Mode mount to get an overhead, top-down view—ideal for scouting shallow water.

Garmin Panoptix LiveScope System With LiveScope GLS 10 Sonar Black Box and Panoptix FAQs

How is 'LiveScope' different from traditional sonar?

Traditional sonar shows you a history of what happened under the boat. LiveScope shows you what is happening right now in real-time. The imagery is so clear that you can actually see your lure as you retrieve it and watch fish react to it. It’s more like an underwater camera than a standard fishfinder.

What are the different viewing modes?

The LVS32 transducer is incredibly versatile. You can easily adjust it to suit your fishing style:

    • LiveScope™ Forward: Perfect for scouting ahead of your cast. You can see structure and fish up to 61 metres (200 feet) in front of your boat.
    • LiveScope™ Down: This gives you a live view of everything directly beneath the boat (up to 61 metres deep).
    • Perspective Mode: With an additional mount (sold separately), you can get a top-down, "birds-eye" view that’s ideal for shallow water.

Which Garmin chartplotters are compatible with this system?

The LiveScope system connects via the Garmin Marine Network. It is compatible with a wide range of modern Garmin units, including:

    • GPSMAP® 8400/8600 series, 7400/7600 series, 1022/1222, 1222xsv Touch, and 722/922 series.
    • ECHOMAP™ Plus 7cv/7sv and 9sv series.
    • ECHOMAP™ UHD and Ultra series.
If you aren’t sure if your current unit will work, just give us a ring at the boatyard and we’ll check for you!

Do I need to be moving for it to work?

No, and that’s the beauty of it. Unlike traditional side-scanning sonar which requires the boat to be moving at a steady pace, LiveScope works perfectly while you are stationary or even anchored.

Will the image be shaky if the water is rough?

Garmin has included an AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System) which stabilises the sonar view on your screen. This means even if the boat is pitching in a bit of a swell, the underwater image stays steady and easy to interpret.

Can I distinguish between different fish species?

While it won't name the fish for you, the resolution is high enough that with a bit of practice, you can distinguish between sizes and shapes. You’ll clearly see the difference between a school of baitfish and a larger predator lurking nearby.

Is it difficult to install?

It’s designed to be straightforward. The GLS 10 black box acts as the "brains" and connects to your chartplotter with a single network cable. We recommend mounting the black box in a dry, ventilated area. If you’re not comfortable with the wiring or mounting the transducer yourself, our service team here at Morgan Marine can certainly handle the installation for you.

What is the power consumption like?

The system uses about 21 Watts typically, with a maximum draw of 58 Watts. It’s designed to run on 10-32 Volt systems, so it’s perfectly suited for most leisure and fishing boats.

Can I use my own colour preferences?

Yes! The system includes seven vivid colour palettes (including Aqua, Caribbean, and Lava). This allows you to choose the contrast that works best for the lighting conditions and your own eyesight.
