Garmin Panoptix LiveScope System Thru-hull mount Key Features
- Real-Time Imagery: See easy-to-interpret, live scanning sonar images of fish swimming near clearly defined structures. The detail is so sharp you can often distinguish between different species of fish.
- Three Modes in One: Easily adjust your view to suit your technique. Use LiveScope™ Forward to see ahead of your boat, LiveScope™ Down to see directly beneath you, or add the optional perspective mount for a top-down view of shallow water.
- Impressive Range: Maintain crystal-clear visibility at distances of up to 61 metres (200 feet) both downwards and away from your boat.
- Image Stabilisation: Equipped with an Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS), the sonar view remains steady on your chartplotter screen even when conditions get choppy.
- Vivid Colour Palettes: Choose from seven high-contrast colour options—including Aqua, Caribbean, and Lava—to help you pick out fish and structure against the bottom with ease.
- Seamless Integration: A simple plug-and-play Garmin Marine Network connector makes it easy to install and integrate with your compatible Garmin chartplotter.

Garmin Panoptix LiveScope System Thru-hull mount FAQs
What exactly makes LiveScope different from traditional sonar?
Traditional sonar gives you a historical "scroll" of what you’ve already passed over. LiveScope, however, is live, real-time scanning. It allows you to see fish swimming, your lure moving, and structure in incredible detail as it happens. Even when your boat is stationary, you get a crystal-clear, moving image of the underwater world up to 61 metres (200 feet) away.
Which Garmin Chartplotters are compatible with this system?
The LiveScope system integrates seamlessly via the Garmin Marine Network. It is compatible with a wide range of modern units, including:
-
- GPSMAP Series: 8400/8600, 7400/7600, 1022/1222, and the newer 723/923/1223 series.
- ECHOMAP Series: UHD, UHD2, and Ultra series (7”, 9”, 10”, and 12” models).
If you are unsure if your current display will work, please get in touch with our team and we can verify it for you.
Why should I choose the Thru-hull mount over a Transom mount?
The Thru-hull mount is the preferred choice for larger vessels or those with inboard engines where transom turbulence might interfere with the signal. Because it sits directly in "clean" water beneath the hull, it provides the most consistent and stable image at various speeds. It also offers a cleaner, more permanent installation for boats that aren't frequently trailered.
Does the image stay stable in choppy British waters?
Yes. The system features an internal Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS). This technology constantly compensates for the boat’s motion, ensuring your sonar view remains stable on the screen even when the conditions get a bit rough.
What views can I get with this transducer?
The LVS32-TH provides three distinct modes to suit your fishing style:
-
- LiveScope™ Forward: See what is ahead of your boat—perfect for scouting before you cast.
- LiveScope™ Down: See directly beneath the boat to watch fish react to your jig.
- Perspective Mode: Use a top-down overhead angle to see what’s happening in shallow water (requires an additional perspective mode mount).
What are the power requirements?
The system operates on 10-32 Vdc. It typically draws about 21W of power, with a maximum draw of 58W. We recommend ensuring your battery system is healthy, as live sonar is more power-intensive than traditional fishfinders.
Can I install this on any hull material?
The system comes with stainless steel hardware. However, there are important considerations:
-
- Fibreglass/GRP: Perfectly suited.
- Wood: We generally advise against plastic thru-hulls in wooden boats due to hull swelling; please contact us for specific hardware advice.
- Aluminium/Steel: Care must be taken to prevent galvanic corrosion between the metal hull and the transducer housing. We can provide isolation sleeves and advice to ensure a safe installation.
Do I need to be moving for LiveScope to work?
Not at all. Unlike traditional SideVü or ClearVü which require the boat to be moving to "paint" the picture, LiveScope is a live video feed. You can be at anchor or drifting, and you will still see every movement beneath the surface in real time.
