Garmin LiveScope XR LVS62 Transducer Only

Garmin LiveScope XR LVS62 Transducer Only is the ultimate tool for anglers who refuse to be limited by depth, specifically designed to bring Garmin’s industry-leading live scanning technology into deeper coastal and open-water environments.

If you’ve been waiting for LiveScope technology to catch up with your coastal or deep-lake ambitions, the wait is over. The LiveScope™ XR LVS62 is the extended-range solution that takes everything we love about live scanning sonar and pushes it further—literally.

At Morgan Marine, we know that clarity is nothing without range when you're out in deeper water. The LVS62 delivers real-time, easy-to-interpret sonar images up to 152 metres (500 ft) in freshwater and 106 metres (350 ft) in saltwater. Whether you are tracking a lure in the depths or scouting for structure around the hull, this transducer ensures you don't miss a beat.

Please note: This is the 'Transducer Only' version. It is an ideal "plug-and-play" upgrade for customers who already own a LiveScope System with the GLS™ 10 sonar black box

Garmin LiveScope XR LVS62 Transducer Only Key Features

  • Unrivalled Extended Range: Explore significantly deeper and further than ever before. With 152m of range in freshwater and 106m in saltwater, you can see fish and structure in real-time before you’ve even moved over them.
  • Three Modes, One Transducer: No need for multiple sensors. Using the included mounts, you can easily switch between:
    • Forward Mode: See what’s ahead of the boat in real-time.
    • Down Mode: See live activity directly beneath your hull.
    • Perspective Mode: An overhead "top-down" view, perfect for scouting open water or shorelines.
  • Image Stabilisation: Don’t let the North Sea chop ruin your view. The built-in AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System) keeps your sonar image steady on the screen, even when the boat is pitching in rougher conditions.
  • Vivid Colour Palettes: Customise your view with seven high-contrast colour options—including Aqua, Caribbean, and Lava—making it easier than ever to distinguish fish from structure.
  • Reverse Range Offset: Maximises your screen space to focus on fish and structure at distance.
  • Compress Range: Gives you a crystal-clear view of what is happening close to the boat while simultaneously monitoring targets further out.
  • Seamless Upgrade: Designed to work with your existing Garmin setup. If you have the GLS™ 10 sonar module, simply swap your current transducer for the LVS62 to instantly transform your system’s capabilities.

Garmin LiveScope XR LVS62 Transducer Only FAQs

What exactly is included in the "Transducer Only" box?

When you purchase the LVS62 Transducer Only from us, you receive the Panoptix LVS62 transducer itself, a 20ft (6-metre) cable, and all the essential mounting hardware: the Perspective Mode mount, a trolling motor barrel mount, and a shaft mount.

Please Note: This version is designed for those who already own a Garmin LiveScope system and want to upgrade their existing transducer. It does not include the GLS 10 sonar black box.

Do I need any other equipment to make this work?

Yes. To see the live imagery on your screen, the LVS62 transducer must be connected to a Garmin GLS 10 sonar black box. If you are starting from scratch and don’t already have a LiveScope system, you will need to purchase the full "LiveScope XR System" bundle which includes the GLS 10.

What makes the "XR" version different from the standard LiveScope Plus (LVS34)?

The "XR" stands for Extended Range. While the standard LiveScope is brilliant for shallow to mid-depths, the XR is engineered for deep water and open-water fishing. It features a lower frequency range (282–522 kHz) which allows it to reach much further:

    • Freshwater: Up to 500 ft (approx. 152m)
    • Saltwater: Up to 350 ft (approx. 106m)
If you fish coastal waters or very deep lochs and reservoirs, the XR is the tool for the job.

Is it compatible with my existing Garmin Chartplotter?

The LVS62 is compatible with most modern Garmin units via the GLS 10 black box. This includes:

    • GPSMAP Series: 8400/8600, 723/923/1223, and the older 1022/1222 series.
    • ECHOMAP Series: UHD2 (7” and 9”), Ultra, and Ultra 2 series.

Tip: Always ensure your chartplotter software is updated to the latest version to support the XR features.

Can I use this in saltwater?

Absolutely. In fact, the LiveScope XR was specifically designed with coastal and "blue water" anglers in mind. It includes built-in AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System) stabilisation, which keeps your sonar image steady on the screen even when the boat is pitching in rougher sea conditions.

What are the three viewing modes?

The LVS62 supports all three iconic LiveScope views, and the mounts for all of them are included in the box:

    • Forward Mode: Shows what is in front of your boat and slightly below (ideal for scouting).
    • Down Mode: Shows what is directly beneath your boat (perfect for vertical jigging).
    • Perspective Mode: Gives you a top-down, wide-angle view of the water column (best for shallow water and scanning banks).

What are the "Compress Range" and "Reverse Range Offset" features?

These are software features unique to the XR that help you manage the massive 500ft range.

    • Compress Range: Allows you to see the detail close to the boat clearly while still keeping an eye on targets far away on the same screen.
    • Reverse Range Offset: Helps you utilise more of the screen by shifting the starting point of the sonar display, giving you more "real estate" to view the deep or distant water you’re focused on.

How difficult is the installation?

If you are upgrading from an LVS32 or LVS34, it is a very straightforward swap as the GLS 10 black box remains the same. The transducer comes with a 20ft cable which is generally plenty for most vessels. We recommend using electrical tape to secure the cable rather than tight zip-ties to prevent any internal wire damage over time.
