• Where should I mount the pedestal? The radar must be mounted on a flat, sturdy surface or platform that is parallel to the vessel's waterline and capable of supporting the unit's weight (pedestal: 21.4 kg (47.1 lb); 4 ft antenna: 5.5 kg (12.2 lb); 6 ft antenna: 7.7 kg (16.9 lb)). It should be away from heat sources and at least 1 m (40 in) from other transmitting equipment.
• How do I connect the antenna to the pedestal? Align the waveguide on the pedestal with the socket on the bottom of the antenna. Secure the antenna using the included hex bolts and spring washers, torquing them to 0.81 kg-m (70 lbf-in. [6 lb-ft.]).
• What if the mounting surface is not level? The vertical radar beam spreads 11.5° above and below the radiating element. Shims can be used to adjust the installation angle if needed to point the beam slightly downward while at rest.
