Yamaha F350 350HP Outboard Engine

Yamaha F350 350HP Outboard Engine isn't just a bigger engine; it is a masterclass in marine engineering. Built on a formidable 4.3-litre V6 block, the F350 takes the proven reliability of the Yamaha Offshore series and elevates it with "XTO DNA" to provide jaw-dropping torque and the best power-to-weight ratio in its class.

Designed for those who refuse to compromise, the F350 is the perfect partner for large offshore cruisers, high-performance ribs, and serious fishing rigs. It delivers smooth, quiet, and efficient power that makes long-distance passages feel effortless and docking in a tight marina more precise than ever before.

Yamaha F350 350HP Outboard Engine Key Features

  • Massive 4.3L V6 Displacement: By increasing the stroke and expanding the displacement to 4.3 litres, Yamaha has created a high-compression powerhouse (11:1 ratio). This results in incredible hole-shot performance and a mid-range punch that must be felt to be believed.Integrated.
  •  Digital Electric Steering (DES): Forget hydraulic pumps and messy hoses. The F350 features built-in DES as standard, offering a clutter-free transom and remarkably light, responsive steering. It only draws battery power when actively in use, ensuring maximum efficiency.
  • Thrust Enhancing Reverse Exhaust (TERE): Experience total control when it matters most. Below 2,500 RPM in reverse, TERE redirects exhaust bubbles above the anti-ventilation plate. This allows the propeller to bite into "clean" water, providing exceptional reverse thrust and manoeuvrability during docking.
  • Advanced Heat Management: Borrowing technology from the flagship XTO 450, the F350 features a new stator fan and through-cowling exhaust vents. This keeps the engine running cool even at idle, which in turn protects your components and increases alternator efficiency.
  • Industry-Leading Charging Power: With a high-output alternator delivering up to 70 amps, the F350 provides more than enough power to run today’s power-hungry navigation suites, sound systems, and onboard lighting—even at low trolling speeds.
  • TotalTilt™ with Integrated Limit: Simplify your launch and recovery. A double-tap of the trim button automatically tilts the engine to its full height. The integrated tilt-limit allows us to program a "stop point" at our workshop to ensure your engine never makes contact with your boat's transom or cowling well.
  • New "Big Block" Gearcase: To handle the massive torque of the 4.3L engine, the gearcase has been reinforced with a newly designed dog clutch featuring more teeth. This ensures smooth shifting and legendary Yamaha durability under heavy loads.
  • Striking Aesthetics: Available in classic Yamaha Grey, Pearlescent White, or the new Classic White, the F350’s aggressive, sleek cowling design makes a bold statement on any transom.

Yamaha F350 350HP Outboard Engine FAQs

Is this the same as the old Yamaha F350 V8?

No. The previous F350 was a 5.3-litre V8. The all-new F350 is built on a 4.3-litre V6 block. By moving to the V6 platform, Yamaha has created an engine that is significantly lighter (over 40kg less than the V8) while providing better power-to-weight performance and modern features like Integrated Digital Electric Steering.

How does the F350 differ from the F300 V6?

While they share a similar family lineage, the F350 is far more than a "tuned-up" 300. It features a longer stroke, a higher 11:1 compression ratio, and 40% larger surge tanks in the intake manifold. It also borrows the 81mm electronic throttle valve from the flagship XTO 450 to pull in more air. Essentially, it’s a "big-bore" version designed for maximum torque.

Does this engine require high-octane "Super" Petrol?

Surprisingly, no. Despite its high performance and 11:1 compression ratio, the F350 is engineered to run on standard 89-octane (mid-grade) unleaded. For our UK customers, standard E10 (95 RON) is perfectly fine, though we always recommend high-quality fuel and the use of Yamaha’s fuel stabilisers for long-term storage.

What is the benefit of "Integrated Digital Electric Steering" (DES)?

The F350 comes with DES built-in. This means there are no hydraulic cylinders, hoses, or pumps to install in your boat's transom. It results in a much cleaner "bilge-free" look and provides incredibly smooth, programmable steering. You can even adjust the steering friction and "turns lock-to-lock" to suit your driving style.

I see a flashing light on the back of some F350s—what is that?

That is the optional Helm Master® EX Activity Warning Light. When you are using SetPoint™ modes (like FishPoint or StayPoint) where the engine may shift or turn automatically to hold your position, this light flashes to alert swimmers or other boaters that the propeller is active.

Can I use my existing propellers on the F350?

The F350 is designed to work with Yamaha’s Saltwater Series II propellers. Because of the massive torque this engine produces, the gearcase has a reinforced "dog clutch" with more teeth. We will work with you during the rigging process to ensure you have the correct pitch to achieve the 5,000–6,000 RPM wide-open throttle range.

How does the "TotalTilt™" system help me?

At the end of a day’s boating, you no longer need to hold the trim button down. A simple double-tap of the "Up" button will automatically tilt the engine to its maximum height. We can also set a "Tilt Limit" during installation to ensure the engine doesn't hit your boat's cowling or seat boxes when tilting.

What is the warranty for a new F350 purchased from Morgan Marine?

As an authorised dealer, every F350 we sell for leisure use comes with a 3-year manufacturer warranty, which is typically eligible for an additional 2-year extended warranty (totalling 5 years), provided the engine is registered and serviced according to the Yamaha schedule.

Is it difficult to flush the engine after a trip?

Not at all. The F350 features a new rigging grommet that allows for a permanent connection to an automatic flushing system. Of course, the standard manual garden hose attachment is still there if you prefer the traditional method.

Can I install two or three of these on my boat?

Absolutely. The F350 is designed for multi-engine configurations. We supply "Counter-Rotating" models for twin and triple setups, ensuring balanced torque and effortless handling when combined with the Helm Master® EX joystick system.

Do you have a specific boat in mind for a repower?

The team at Morgan Marine can provide a full compatibility check for your transom. Would you like us to put together a quote for a single or twin F350 installation, including the Helm Master® EX joystick system?
