Suzuki outboard Fly by wire rigging kit and Precision Control
Suzuki outboard Fly by wire rigging kit and Precision Control are specifically designed for the latest generation of Suzuki outboards (2022 onwards). At Morgan Marine, we know that the difference between a good day on the water and a great one often comes down to the responsiveness of your controls.
This technologically advanced "Fly-by-Wire" system replaces traditional mechanical cables with a sophisticated computer-based electronic interface. By eliminating the friction and resistance of physical cables, S.P.C 2.0 delivers a "sports car" feel—offering silky-smooth shifting and instantaneous, precise throttle response that makes docking and close-quarter manoeuvring effortless
Suzuki outboard Fly by wire rigging kit and Precision Control Key Features
- Next-Gen Fly-by-Wire Technology: Enjoy a friction-free experience. Commands are processed in real-time and transmitted electronically to the engine actuators for decisive, crisp shifting.
- Precision Trolling Mode: Essential for the serious angler, this integrated feature allows you to adjust engine speeds in 50rpm increments, giving you ultimate control at low revs. Updated Ergonomics: The redesigned control head features a sleek, "luxury" finish with concealed mounting bolts and an ergonomic grip tested for comfort and intuitive use.
- Integrated Lean Burn Sync: Works seamlessly with Suzuki's Lean Burn Fuel Control system, optimising the air-fuel mixture to improve fuel economy across the entire rev range.
- Automatic Trim Compatibility: When paired with a Suzuki Multi-Function Gauge (SMG4) or Multi-Function Display (SMD), the system can automatically adjust power tilt and trim to your pre-set positions as you reach designated RPMs.
- Clean Console Design: Available in Single Top Mount or Flush Mount options to provide a harmonious, professional look to your boat's dash.
What’s Included in the Kit?
This comprehensive rigging kit provides the core components required for a first-station installation:
-
- Suzuki Precision Control Head: (Choose between Top Mount or Flush Mount).
- Boat Control Module (BCM): The "brain" of your electronic system.
- BCM Harness & Cushion: For secure, vibration-resistant installation.
- Ignition & Start/Stop Panels: Sleek push-button operation for modern convenience.
- Troll Mode Switch Panel: For immediate access to low-speed precision.
- Emergency Stop Switch & Lanyard: Essential safety as standard.
Please Note: This kit is designed for Suzuki electronic shift models from 2022 onwards (e.g., DF115BG / DF140BG and the AP series). The main engine-to-dash wiring harness and gauges (SMG4/SMD) are typically sold separately to match your specific boat length and display preferences.
Suzuki outboard Fly by wire rigging kit and Precision Control FAQs
What exactly is "Fly-by-Wire" technology?
Traditionally, outboards use mechanical cables to shift gears and adjust the throttle. "Fly-by-Wire" (or electronic drive-by-wire) replaces those stiff cables with digital signals. When you move the lever, a computer (the BCM) sends an instant electronic command to actuators on the engine. This results in silky-smooth shifting and precise throttle response without the friction or "clunk" of mechanical systems.
Which engines are compatible with the 2022-onwards rigging kit?
This specific kit is designed for Suzuki’s "Series 4" and newer electronic shift engines from the 2022 range onwards. This includes the "BG" models (e.g., DF115BG, DF140BG) and the larger "AP" and "A" series (DF150AP up to the flagship DF350A).
Note: If your engine was manufactured in 2021 or earlier, you will require the previous generation SPC kit (Part No: 67000-98JE8). Please contact our parts team if you are unsure which year your engine falls into.
What are the main benefits of upgrading to SPC 2.0?
Precision Docking: The updated 2022 controls offer better "detent" (the feel of the lever clicking into gear), giving you much finer control in tight marinas.
-
- Automatic Trim: When integrated with a Suzuki Multi-Function Display, the system can automatically adjust your engine trim based on RPM, keeping your boat at the perfect planing angle without you lifting a finger.
- Fuel Efficiency: SPC works in perfect harmony with Suzuki’s Lean Burn Control, delivering the optimum fuel-to-air ratio more accurately than mechanical throttles.
- Single Lever Operation: If you are running twin or triple engines, you can synchronise them to be controlled by a single lever at the touch of a button.
What is "Troll Mode" and do I need it?
Troll Mode is a fantastic feature for anglers. It allows you to adjust the engine speed in fine 50rpm increments using a dedicated switch. This gives you total control over your lure speed or holding position against a current—something that is nearly impossible with a standard mechanical lever.
Can I install this kit myself?
While the kit is "plug-and-play" in terms of wiring, the system requires professional calibration to ensure the BCM and the engine are communicating correctly. As an authorised Suzuki dealer, Morgan Marine highly recommends having our factory-trained engineers perform the installation and commissioning to ensure your manufacturer’s warranty remains valid.
Is the kit available in different styles?
Yes. You can choose between a Top Mount binnacle (standard on most RIBs and centre consoles) or a Flush Mount side control (often preferred for cabin boats or where dash space is limited). The Flush Mount version also includes an integrated emergency stop switch for added safety.
