• Does the four-stroke outboard come with engine oil pre-filled? No, engine oil is not pre-filled. You must add the specified oil before the first use.
• Which type of engine oil should I use? Suzuki recommends MOTUL Outboard Tech 4T 10W40 . Alternatively, use a 10W-30 or 10W-40 four-stroke motor oil that is NMMA certified FC-W® rated.
• Do outboards come with lower unit oil pre-filled? Yes, lower unit gear oil is pre-filled, but you should check the level before the first use.
• What type of gasoline should I use? Use gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87 and no more than 10% ethanol. Non-ethanol gasoline with an octane rating of 89 or higher is recommended for better performance.
• How often should I service the engine? Suzuki recommends servicing the outboard every 100 hours or once a year, whichever comes first, after the initial 20-hour service.
• How should I flush my outboard after use in saltwater? For 8 HP and up models, attach a motor flusher to the water intake and run fresh water through the system at idle for 5-10 minutes.
