Seago Sea Cruiser Plus ISO 9650-1 TYPE 2
Seago Sea Cruiser Plus ISO 9650-1 TYPE 2 available in a robust fibreglass container. This is the latest evolution of Seago’s best-selling leisure life raft, engineered to meet the stringent new ISO standards while remaining one of the most competitively priced units on the market. The Sea Cruiser Plus has been refined with several high-spec upgrades. One of the most significant changes is the inclusion of a new boarding ramp in place of a traditional weighted ladder, making it much easier and safer to board from the water in a stressful situation.
Constructed with twin independent butyl rubber chambers, the raft is designed for maximum redundancy—should one chamber suffer a puncture, the raft will still remain afloat with its full capacity of people on board. The canopy is made from high-visibility Ripstop nylon, ensuring you stay dry and easily visible to rescue teams

Seago Sea Cruiser Plus ISO 9650-1 TYPE 2 FAQs
What makes the "Plus" model different from the standard Sea Cruiser?
The "Plus" is the latest evolution of Seago’s best-selling leisure raft. The most significant upgrade is the new boarding ramp, which replaces the traditional weighted ladder. This makes it much easier and faster to board the raft from the water, especially if you are wearing heavy wet weather gear or an inflated lifejacket. It also features a redesigned, slimline container with a polished finish.
Is this liferaft suitable for offshore sailing?
Yes, absolutely. The ISO 9650-1 Type 2 certification means it is specifically designed for coastal and offshore sailing and fishing. It is built to handle the conditions typically found in UK and European waters, providing peace of mind for leisure cruisers heading further afield.
What is the advantage of the Container (Canister) over the Valise?
While the valise is great for portability and internal storage, the Container is designed to be mounted on deck (usually on the push pit or coach roof).
-
- Protection: The robust fibreglass shell protects the raft from the elements and UV damage.
- Accessibility: In an emergency, it is already in position and ready for immediate deployment.
- Dimensions: Our slimline canisters are designed to have a smaller footprint on your deck.
What happens if one of the tubes gets a puncture?
The Sea Cruiser Plus is designed with twin independent butyl rubber chambers. This means that if one chamber is punctured, the other is capable of supporting the raft’s full occupancy. It’s a "fail-safe" system that is a core part of its ISO safety rating.
How often does the raft need servicing?
To maintain your warranty and ensure the raft is always ready for action, the service interval is every 3 years. Seago has an extensive global service network, so finding a certified service station is straightforward.
What is the warranty on this product?
Seago offers an impressive 18-year warranty on the Sea Cruiser Plus. This reflects the confidence they have in the "super robust" materials, such as the Ripstop Nylon canopy and high-quality butyl tubes.
