At just 14kg, the Honda BF2.3 is one of the lightest petrol outboards in its class. That makes it ideal if you need an engine that’s easy to lift on and off a boat. An ergonomic carry handle positioned at the engine’s balance point makes transport simple. No awkward lifting, no strain - just pick it up and go.

Twist-and-go centrifugal clutch
The BF2.3 features a centrifugal clutch system, allowing the engine to idle without spinning the propeller. That means no gears to worry about. Simply increase the throttle and the clutch engages automatically, delivering smooth and predictable drive. Simple, intuitive, and ideal for beginners or anyone who wants hassle-free boating.

360° steering for easy manoeuvring
Tight marina spaces? Reversing into a berth? The 360° pivot steering makes manoeuvring effortless. Instead of shifting gears, just rotate the tiller handle around to reverse direction. Swing the handle 180° and the boat moves backwards. It’s a clever design that makes docking and low-speed control far easier.

Protects itself in shallow water
Running close to shore or in shallow water? The tilt mechanism lets you quickly lift the engine clear to protect the propeller. A spring-loaded tilt lock holds the engine securely in position when underway, so you can lower it back into the water and carry on.

Smooth throttle control
The tiller-mounted twist grip throttle is smooth and precise, with an adjustable throttle tensioner. Set the throttle where you want it and the engine will hold that speed - perfect for steady cruising without constant adjustment.

Built to handle the marine environment
Saltwater is tough on engines. Honda’s 4-Front corrosion protection system helps ensure long-term durability. Each engine goes through a four-stage protection process:

• Aluminium components are anodised using Honda’s Double Seal process
• An epoxy primer is applied for additional corrosion resistance
• Honda’s signature silver marine paint is added
• A clear resin topcoat protects against UV damage

A sacrificial anode and waterproof electrical connectors add further protection.
