Highfield Roll Up 250 PVC
Highfield Roll Up 250 PVC are designed for boaters who refuse to compromise on quality, even when space is at a premium. Ideally suited as a ship-to-shore tender or a compact coastal explorer, this 2.5-metre inflatable takes the concept of a "stow-and-go" boat to the next level.
What sets this model apart is Highfield’s signature aluminium transom. Unlike traditional plywood transoms that can delaminate or rot over time, this powder-coated aluminium build ensures lifelong durability and superior strength. Combined with Highfield’s inflatable V-hull, the RU 250 delivers a solid, capable feel on the water that belies its compact size. It is incredibly easy to assemble, deflate, and store, making it the perfect companion for your primary vessel or family camping trips

Highfield Roll Up 250 PVC FAQs
What makes the Highfield Roll Up 250 different from other inflatable tenders?
The standout feature is Highfield’s signature high-tensile chromated and powder-coated aluminium transom. Unlike the traditional plywood transoms found on many competitor inflatables, Highfield’s aluminium design will not delaminate or rot over time, making it significantly more durable and long-lasting.
How many people can the RU 250 safely carry?
The Roll Up 250 is designed to carry up to 3 passengers comfortably. It has a maximum payload capacity of 240kg (approx. 529lbs), making it a very capable little workhorse for its size.
What are the floor options for this model?
You typically have two choices depending on your priorities:
- Airmat Floor: Lightweight and comfortable underfoot; it provides a rigid V-hull shape when inflated, which improves tracking and performance.
- Slatted Floor: Even quicker to set up and pack away, perfect for those who want the simplest "roll up" experience possible.
Is the PVC fabric durable enough for UK coastal use?
Absolutely. Highfield uses high-quality Valmex® PVC from Mehler Texnologies in Germany. The tubes feature thermo-welded seams, which are far superior to glued seams as they create a permanent bond that won’t fail in the heat or over time.
What size outboard engine do I need?
The RU 250 is rated for a maximum of 6hp. We recommend a short-shaft engine. If you need an engine to go with your boat, we always have a range of new and used outboards in stock here at Morgan Marine and can help you with the perfect pairing.
How easy is it to store and transport?
As the name suggests, it is designed to be rolled up and stowed away. With a "boat only" weight of approximately 30kg, it is light enough for a single person to handle and can easily be transported in a car boot or stored in a yacht's locker.
Can I use this boat with davits?
Yes, the RU 250 features built-in davit lifting points. Because of its lightweight aluminium transom and clever design, it is an excellent choice for hanging on the back of a larger vessel.
How do I maintain the PVC tubes?
We recommend rinsing the boat with fresh water after use in salt water. When storing it for long periods, try to keep it out of direct sunlight or use a breathable cover. As your dealer, we stock a full range of marine cleaning products in our Brightlingsea chandlery to help you keep your Highfield in top condition.
