Highfield Classic 260 PVC
Highfield Classic 260 PVC are a compact yet remarkably robust tender that punches well above its weight.
Whether you are looking for a reliable ship-to-shore tender or a versatile small runabout for the family, the Classic 260 is designed to deliver. Highfield’s world-renowned aluminium hull technology ensures this boat is light enough for easy davit lifting or beaching, yet tough enough to withstand the rigours of rocky shorelines without the fear of gelcoat chips.
Inside, you’ll find a surprisingly spacious layout for its 2.6-metre length. The integrated bow locker provides a neat solution for storing your fuel tank or safety gear, keeping the deck clear for up to four passengers. Finished with a high-quality brushed foam teak deck, the Classic 260 offers a premium look and feel with the practical benefits of being non-slip and comfortable underfoot.

Highfield Classic 260 PVC FAQs
What makes the Classic 260 different from the Ultralite 260?
The "Classic" range features a double-deck hull. This means you have a flat, self-draining floor inside the boat. While the Ultralite is slightly lighter, the Classic keeps your feet dry by allowing any water to drain into the bilge area below the deck. It also includes an integrated bow locker, which the Ultralite lacks.
How many people can the CL260 comfortably carry?
The Classic 260 is rated for 3 adults and 1 child (3+1). It has a maximum payload of 360kg, which is impressive for a boat of this size. It’s the perfect choice for short hops from your yacht to the shore or for small family trips around the harbour.
What is the hull made of, and is it easily damaged?
The hull is crafted from 2.5mm thick high-tensile chromated and powder-coated marine-grade aluminium. Unlike traditional GRP (fibreglass) tenders, you don’t need to worry about chipping the gelcoat when beaching on shingle or pebbles. We also fit a full-length keel guard as standard for extra peace of mind.
Can I store a fuel tank in the boat?
Yes. One of the best features of the Classic 260 is the integrated bow locker. It is specifically designed to house a 24L portable fuel tank. This keeps the deck clear of clutter and helps with the weight distribution of the boat when you’re on the move.
What size outboard engine do I need?
The CL260 is rated for a maximum of 15hp (Short Shaft). However, because the aluminium hull is so light (the boat only weighs 54kg), it performs brilliantly with a 6hp or 10hp engine. If you're looking for a package deal with a Honda or Yamaha outboard, please do get in touch with our team here at Morgan Marine.
Are the PVC seams welded or glued?
Highfield uses Mehler Valmex® PVC with welded seams. Welded seams are far superior to glued seams as they create a permanent bond that won't fail in hot temperatures or over time, ensuring your tubes stay airtight for years to come.
Is the deck slippery when wet?
Not at all. The Classic 260 comes standard with a brushed foam teak-finish (EVA) deck. It provides excellent grip underfoot, feels comfortable for bare feet, and gives the boat a premium, high-end look.
How do I transport or lift the boat?
The boat comes equipped with four lifting points (specifically designed for davits) and towing bridle points on the transom. At just 54kg, it is manageable for two people to move, and we can also supply a suitable launching trolley or trailer if required.
What is included as standard?
When you buy a CL260 from us, it comes ready to go with:
-
- A removable aluminium seat
- Highfield dry bag, foot pump, and oars
- Repair kit
- Under-seat storage bag
- Tank strap kit for the bow locker
What warranty comes with the boat?
Highfield offers a robust warranty: 5 years on the hull structure and 5 years on the PVC fabric (limited). As an authorised dealer, Morgan Marine handles the registration and any aftercare support you might need.
